Had my striker come to me asking for a new contract to reflect his ability. Fine, we're doing well and he has been a decent player.
Problem, I have no wage budget. So I said 'yes, but it'll have to be at the end of the season'
His reaction: I refuse to wait, either give me a new deal or I leave.
I say I can't offer a new deal at the moment.
His reaction: Right I demand to leave, and I'm going to complain to my team mates AND the media about this.
Boy.... that escalated quickly.. (he also still has 3 years left on his deal and is happy with playing time). So that's one of my key players having to be sold because of a conversation not making sense.
