  1. Thanks for your response! I've managed to figure it out - my video drivers were up to date according to the graphics support center, but I went into device manager and manually checked for updates which worked and solved the problem. So the issue was on my end and had nothing to do with the game. Thanks again!
  2. I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this or not, if so I apologize and send it to the correct forum. Earlier today I installed an audio commentary mod and both a 3D and 2D kitpack for England levels 1-8. The commentary patch replaced simatchviewer.fmf and simatch.fmf in the /data folder and kits into the default graphics folder (I don't see how they would effect anything but just listing everything I changed). Everything installed and worked correctly, but when I started a game in the 3D match engine, there was a noticeable difference in the speed of player animations. Not a huge difference, but player movements have become much quicker, e.g. when a player kicks a ball, his leg moves like it's in fast-forward, the ball moves faster etc. I had changed the framerate to 60 fps from automatic last night, but didn't notice any difference in animation speed. I deleted the simatchviewer.fmf and simatch.fmf files from the commentary mod and restored the original files that I had backed up, cleared the cache, reloaded skin, and rebooted my computer, but still had the same issue when playing in the ME. I've adjusted the ME graphics settings, changed from low to high, changed the render scale from the original 75% to 100%, and nothing has made the game go back to a normal speed. I've had the same settings since I started playing FM23 and have never had anything like this happen, and I'm totally at a loss to understand what's happening. It's not a total dealbreaker, but the match engine improvements are what sold me on buying FM23 and it was like PERFECT, so it's disappointing. Is there any way that the audio commentary mod messed with the ME mechanics and is still effecting them even after I restored the original /data folder files? I'm trying to figure it out and might just reinstall worst case scenario but curious if anyone might have any ideas on why this would happen. Thanks!
  3. Just getting around to reading these, I appreciate the responses! Kind of replying to comments en masse here, but the latitude and longitude information is helpful and potentially the solution! I had experimented coordinates a bit but was only looking at how it affected the stadium surroundings, not travel costs. I *think* that the Finnish newgens only popped up in a test save where I had changed the club city's region to Finland. However, I hadn't considered changing the stadium coordinates to correspond with my club's location in England. If I'm understanding correctly, latitude and longitude are what effect the travel costs? If so, I believe there would be no other issue with simply having the stadium in Finland and creating or re-naming a city to ours. This is massively helpful, I had just given up yesterday until I read these. I'll give this a try and report back (maybe with some pics!). Thanks again!
  4. Thanks for the response. That makes sense, I hadn't tested deep enough into a save to see how travel costs came into effect but our schedule appeared normal, i.e. home match on X day, away match 3 days later, home match 3 days after that. I didn't see "Travel" factored into the training schedule so I had hoped it worked. And you're right, I had tried every scenario. I put the stadium in the nation England with the region set to Western Finland and then we started having Finnish players pop up in the generated squad, set Finnish city Tampere to England and then it was back to English stadium surroundings. There's no way to change it unless some magician knows how to use advanced rules or edit some code to switch the 3D surroundings generated by default, and I kinda doubt anyone has messed with that. Thanks again for your reply!
  5. Hello, I've been searching all over for any info on this but haven't been able to find anything that specifically pertains to my issue. I've created a new club in England and have been trying to make the stadium & surroundings look unique. Unfortunately, in England there are only a handful of surroundings generated (city with housing & large buildings, barren industrial area etc). I hit the jackpot when I looked at Finland's stadium surroundings and they're just what I want - forest surroundings with a training pitch in the distance. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, I cannot "trick" the editor into using these surroundings for an English club. I've tried everything over 22 test saves, but the only way to have the Finland surroundings is if the stadium is (surprise) in Finland. My question is this: does it really matter or effect anything if the English club's stadium is technically located in another country? I don't mind using my imagination, but I don't know if this will cause issues later in the save or add huge travel costs for the club. Also, if anyone has any clever advice on how to add or edit a region in a way that will make it possible without actually having the stadium in another country, it would be a game changer for me. Thank you for your time, any input is very much appreciated!
  6. Hello, first of all I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong forum, but I've searched around and haven't found any information on this specific topic. I'm trying to set up a database that puts Bury FC back into the game as a playable club, and I've successfully managed to do this. However, when I load up the save there is no U18s team, but there IS a U23s team. When setting up the club's information in the pregame editor, I saw that there was a box to check/uncheck next to the U23s and U18s that says "not used". I looked at other clubs in the database, and some clubs had both unchecked or checked, some had only one unchecked etc. I left them both unchecked, yet I still ended up with no U18s in the game - when I go to the Development Center, it doesn't come up as an option below the U23s like it normally does. I purposely started the club with no players or staff, so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. Can anyone explain what this option means? Thanks!
