  1. We need a couple. Sneak another in there between May and August but we need something between August and Christmas as well. Too long a gap.
  2. Good for them. Hopefully we can start having the discussion at some point in the not too distant future.
  3. Yes, I remember reading some countries don't get them as movable holidays if they fall on a weekend. We at least get the BH moved if Christmas falls on a weekend. Still your 9 would still beat our normal amount. We're getting a feast of them this year with the jubilee and the Queen dying.
  4. Now's a great time to propose an annual Monarch Day for 19/09. Disrespectful to deny it imo.
  5. We should absolutely get more public holidays. We get ****ed in that regard in this country. Make the 19th September a monarch day, or Elizabeth Day, anything. If we have to put up with having them at least let's get something good out of it.
  6. One of my mate's teams that were involved in it I mean, despicable...have a ****ing word.
  7. https://fulltime.thefa.com/newsArticle.html?league=9796355&noticePlacementID=376229221&noticeID=574690100 "Disrespectful and despicable" ffs.
  8. Day off in lieu like Christmas I guess? Assuming though they'll announce the funeral being in the week (Monday?) regardless.
  9. Does Harry sign it? Hoping he'll pop a cheeky cock and balls on the paper for the laugh.
  10. Daughter just had some Monster Munch at the pub. As we all know that was the favourite corn based snack of the Queen, so a fitting tribute.
  11. And that! Not often, if ever, these sports get a free hit. Even with international breaks there's still lower league football on.
  12. Absolutely this. They wanted to be quick off the mark with something performative and completely misjudged it. There is nothing fundamentally disrespectful about holding a football match, and other sports are showing quite clearly that you can show respect whilst not grinding everything to a halt. Baffling stuff. Think other sports have probably now seen what a ****show this is and decided to do the opposite.
  13. The first 3 seem more like reasons to continue with the football and mark your respects in a big way at each game.
  14. Look at these disrespectful bastards carrying on with only a 2 minutes silence: https://sheffieldsteelers.co.uk/elite-league-to-mark-season-opening-weekend-with-two-minute-silence/
  15. It's times like these that you really get a sense of what a backward, baffling little country this is. The Met Office ffs. Cancelling grassroots football.
  16. **** all because nobody else would give a **** about it. We could have forfeited our games out of respect, I suppose.
  17. Yeah, I don't particularly think Sinclair was right to tweet what he did. It's just a good example of the hypocrisy of people who whinge about cancel culture suddenly adamant he should be sacked immediately. The first few top hits on that tweet were people that streams of anti-woke, cancel culture stuff in them that I saw.
