I don't really know what people are on , literally now you can play gun-ho without getting punished... ! Even making this hotfix on corners imho wasn't the smartest way possible, but i do appreciate it.

Beside that, this M.E. ASTONISHING, gameplay improved, everything improved. If people complain even about that, you should start to learn how to play this game, it's very simple, everything start from player selection.

Well I never, truly surprised that playing as Man City makes the game easy!

  2. What's wrong with improving the graphics? Our entire work culminates in matches themselves, so it can only be a good thing that work continues on both improving the match engine itself, and bringing a (hopefully) more realistic presentation of this. Its certainly not a case of SI "desiring to be FIFA" , as from both what they have said regarding this and seeing match engine improvements presentation is not the only reason for making this change.

Personally I'm very hopeful for next year, Im aware of this releases flaws but finding 24 hugely enjoyable despite them, much of that is from the match engine improvements such as player movement meaning we can mix roles we could never do before due to this such as wingers and wingbacks, particularly with little tweaks such as wingers being able to now cut inside, or choose which way they go.

I would like to know how many goals your strikers score per season? It seems to me that in FM 24 it is not like in previous versions. Of course, there can't be so many goals in the first seasons while building the team, but let's say once it is built, in the previous versions, there could be more goals than performances by the strikers.

For me, this is not the case with Osimhen. And this applies when I am playing with two strikers, but also when he is the lone striker.

I'm asking because I am wondering is it that in this game or it is related with my tactics.

    Its not an issue:

  4. So logically once we have changed a week to a custom schedule, the game then defaults changed weeks to the Custom Schedules list if we need to change it.

And its not awful that for unchanged weeks the view defaults to the pre-set ones, but would be a nice little quality of life improvement if the game would either let us choose the default list shown, or just default to the last schedules list displayed / used.

Or better still could we just tell the game what schedules we need to use for certain scenarios and it will apply them for us, EG: Use Schedule X for weeks with a game on Wed and Sunday.

Add a global "cross less/more often" team instruction similar to the "run with ball more/less often" option. Something that will slightly move the needle in the direction you want beyond the player instructions.

It's an IRL "team philosophy" that you see coaches talk about reasonably often.

    Or something like "cut-backs only".

    Good idea.

One thing Id like to see is either a new role or IWB/auto so we can set Inverted Wingbacks to cross more or a least not cross less often. Yes. I could play them as CWBs but I lose the build-up portion of them stepping into midfield.

Otherwise when trying to setup ala Ange's Spurs its possible with the new movement of wingers being able to cut inside to get players like Porro into the positions we see him in but not to get them to cross on a consistent basis.

The Premier League does get congested a lot due to two different cup competitions, European football and the league itself - top clubs, like City, Liverpool, etc, regularly end up with that sort of congestion. I'm not entirely sure what you want SI to do when real life has this happen regularly too.

Agree, sorry forgot to show that not all the teams I played didnt all go deep in the cups, and most had free midweeks leading up to the last week, surely one of those fixtures could have been slotted into a midweek earlier? Just seems the game doensnt proactively try and prevent this end of season run of games when it has opportunities leading up to it.

I had just 3 games in March:

When others had league games on 21st, so odd that one of mine couldnt be moved there as it was fa cup semi-final weekend so only 4 teams are involved:

    image.png.66d32b26aafaad345d208dc6b2d6f2fd.png

It never really used to be an issue until the new CL format came in last season.

Sadly cant see when the fixtures were rearranged so next season will see if when they are re-arranged if there are potentially better places to place the rearranged games.

Still regardless havent enjoyed a release as much as this for quite some time.

I reckon I must be the worst FM player eve to grace the game if people are saying they are winning loads with GGP. I'm certainly not.

Depends who your team and players are!

Would suspect many are doing this with already top tier sides, or at least its useful to know if this OP success is from playing as Man City, or dominating with Luton Town.

  8. Do find thought that I can see when an opponent using it in that Im not seeing them pressing harder, but that my passing goes to pot in terms of short passes or players running away from the ball. Its effect is fine logically but the way the ME displays it isn't so good.

Not game breaking but its a bit FIFA in that the effect is seen from my players rather than observing what the opposing team is doing.

It is clearly very difficult to pin down the likes of finishing and composure

Algorithms can help, but nobody is ever going to be happy because real life performance comes into play, and suddenly everyone is saying this guy should have 16-17 finishing because he is on a hot streak. Six months later and everything is different. Son had a barren streak not too long ago, where he was missing chances,  and that has to be taken into account. 16 is more than fair.

Also many think finishing alone is the  be all and end all, Sons been fine for me as a striker. Maddison is the one I think needs a bit of work as believe he was still good for Leicester last season.

But hey this is when the editor is worth getting for those who dont agree with player attributes, just it takes some self-discipline to stick with a point here or there!

I always get it simply to remove Sons "likes ball into feet" trait as that ruins him. Take that away and he's more like the player we see.

I've reached the end of my tether with this nonsense. Took over West Ham who were in relegation trouble. Went away to Newcastle who are in a three-way fight for the title. We took the lead but ultimately lost the game (they have signed Osimhen). We had a higher XG than them so I was relatively happy with the overall performance. I decided to reflect this in my post match team talk by choosing the option that says something like 'Don't be too deflated - If we play like that and create as many chances going forward we will get results' (can't recall the exact wording). Everyone reacted with the 'Looked to switch off' response, and then this happens:

    image.thumb.png.46176c2787914a2400a61b31567a4ea0.png

I guarantee if I'd have gone in hard on them I would be getting a dressing room revolt for being too harsh. This has happened at every club I've managed so far. I am now forced into making a 'promise' that I will improve team talks or lose the entire dressing room. Now I will be walking a tightrope after every match, not knowing what to say as I believe the system is completely broken. I know that choosing a lower reputation is supposed to inject difficulty, but the context and logic string that runs right through the interactions module is the most flawed it has ever been.

Realise why you wouldnt, but tbh I just tell them to f**k off as always seems to be my fringe or young players nagging.

Also worth save scumming here, as sometimes you will find if you're established and successful that they will back down.

Show me real world examples and there should be a lot because of how common it is in game. Player asks for new contract at beginning of the season, I give him a new contract. Then he turns around six months later and ask for a new one. Again with how common this is in game, I should be reading maybe a couple hundred stories a year about players receiving multiple new contracts in the same year with several years remaining on their existing contract.

Ive never seen your example in game.

I said clubs will sometimes renew contracts for star players with 3 years left.

Ifs its such an issue then best to post it in the bugs forum with a copy of your save game as that will show the clear issue.

Two different things. A player is only going ask for x salary after x first team appearances if they haven't cracked the first team. We are talking about established players ripping up their contracts whenever they feel like it. Sometimes more than once in the same calendar year.

But that player could now be an experienced / much wanted player if the contract without the salary rises was offered at 21 and they are now 23 and performing well and have made leaps in their ability.

Still this can be managed, I had similar with Destiny Udogie who after his first season at Spurs wanted a rise from 60k ish to 200k, he needed a rise and I told him end of season. That then fitted in with my 2 years to go renewal.

Sitting on another 2 at the moment too, both are important players for me. Last season they both asked (they both arguably were underpaid in comparison to others), and I said no as they needed to improve which they accepted, they have improved and carried it into the next season and asked again and I said end of season:

    image.thumb.png.5aba37653ac68bf0608d71415b1a363d.png

Not suggesting its perfect but their are plenty of tools we can use to push back and manage these situations.

And really sometimes players will not accept this, but as i say its a management game and sometimes clubs will have to decide to move that player on if it doesn't fit what they as a manager want to spend.

Few things to bear in mind here - if you've got let's say a squad player (Joe Bloggs) on £50k a week which they signed a year ago, then go out and sign another player that Joe Bloggs doesn't think is much better than him, but pay them £100k a week, Joe Bloggs will look at that and think they're being treated unfairly. Likewise the inverse, if a player is being paid poorly compared to their teammates, then they will get wider support if they throw the toys out when you refuse to give them a new contract. So try and be consistent with your wage structure where you can.

Consider the wider ramifications of what signing players does to the current squad. They will look around the club and the league and see how comparable players are valued. Even if you sign say a Key Player on £200k a week, that sends a wider message to the squad on the scale of the salaries you're willing to pay. So even the backups will look at that and think this new scale should reverberate down.

Likewise with playing at differing levels - expectation with promotion that all players may want an increase to closer to the league average, so plan accordingly in advance. And as for players letting their contracts run down - different players have different ambition and career goals. With an ambitious agent, they'll be encouraged to see those deals down, so make sure your key players never get into the last couple of years if you can help it - albeit that of course comes at a premium.

Agree, if anything its a little too easy to remove requests for X salary after X first team appearances when signing players which I'm sure many do like myself, and also to remove the % yearly pay rise.

So its worthwhile considering  I find to offer the basic wage to somewhere in-between the basic we can offer and their top request for a rise, do find by doing this that I am far less prone to players demanding rise after a year of good form and improvement, and I can generally stick to renewing contracts when they have 2 years left.

Also as said in my above post the situation can be managed for squad players in various ways, and also as in real life if my Star players with 3 years left wants a bump and is playing well I will as with real life clubs tend to choose to lock in these players. After all its just the salary rising as believe the loyalty bonus is reset as its based over the span of a contract.

And of course if I feel its too much to ask considering my budget then as with real life clubs I have a decision to make that perhaps I should sell.

Would be great if in future versions we could see amortisation included or displayed for making these kind of decisions, as we'd be able to see clearly the benefit to the club of extending the contract in terms of what it does to player value. Also for each tier of the squad planner see how wage budgets would be change should we drop down to our next best option etc.

It's beyond ridiculous to have to give half of your team a new contact when they still have 3 or more years on their current deal. SI doesn't seem to care. They probably don't think there is any return on  investment. As you said, this has been the case for a long time and it hasn't been fixed.

Never seen this as an issue, if its a prized asset on form then a lot of real life clubs would extend contracts if the players form and stature has increased and they deserve to be brought in line with higher earners.

For lesser players in FM I normally promise them one at the end of the season if playing well (which most accept and doesnt damage morale), or if not I tell them they need to earn it. In the latter case if they dont improve I can now tell them that I will consider their future at the club, and will most likely also look at them as a position to refresh in close season.

Also havent seen any change in for the most part I can stick to a plan of renewing by choice when they have 2 years left.

Yes, of course it will sometimes not work like clockwork and I might see unhappy players but hey we are managing a club and its not always meant to go our way.

  15. Some other neat things in the ME.

Previously wide players with on the side they havent the strongest foot on but reasonable other foot would always turn back and not cross, Now they do, even if the cross isnt great,

Also before players would clumsily run the ball out, now they recognise they won't get it and let it go for a throw.

Also like how players control the ball into their path or knock it ahead a bit. Rather than as before stop momentum in attacks by killing the ball.

  16. Have only played a couple of games but one big improvement for me is players realising they are offside and stepping back on, hopefully this will reduce the amount of silly offsides.

Also I could be wrong but dinked finishes over the keeper are new?

And keepers getting hands to the ball and it not being enough.

And dodgy passbacks seem more realistic, not like before when it felt that the game decided upon it therefore goal, hard to describe this one but ok same outcome but looks more akin to when it happens irl.

Also as someone playing on a work laptop- like how low setting graphics look better, less blocky with some AA and the ME runs very smooth.

So, I bought from CD Keys - early access included in the version I bought. Game key taken by steam, yet no option to install.

First time I have bought FM from CD Keys - will be the last too!

There are two versions, one that clearly specifies it isn't early access etc. The real one is 32-33 quid the one that isnt is 29ish.

I made that mistake and they refunded the money.

Also you need to restart Steam to install too.
