  1. Is there a way to get in touch with the developers to ask them to increase the font size on the Nintendo Switch and other devices?

I tried to play the game on my Switch and Steam Deck and the font is just way to small and renders it unplayable for me.

I think there should be an option to increase the font size and scale the UI to make it bigger on handhelds.  Handhelds are growing in popularity and as gamers progress through life (cough…age…cough) it is Mischandra easier to see larger text and UI elements.

    Thanks.

I personally wouldn't pay too much attention to the strength and weaknesses of the team.

Just go back and watch the highlights of the goals they score and you'll have an idea of how they attack. If you don't mind spending time you can watch one or 2 of their games in extended highlights so you can see how they defend as well

I did not know you can do that.  Which menu is it in?  I will have to give it a shot.

    Takeaways

    1.  Goalkeepers can pass long and the team has good acceleration so don’t press up high.  Sit back.

    2.  My defenders should close down close to our goal since they like to shoot on sight.

    3.  Be patient and work ball into box since concentration is low.

    4.  Find strongest players to field – especially at forward and midfield.

    5.  Stay away from Dick Roosenburg – he is a good defender for them.

In the top graph, each percentage bar is an indication of how much possession you've had in that area of the pitch. For example, 4% of the time, you had possession in your defensive third, the opposition had the ball in your defensive third 3% of the time. You can see that most of the action was occurring in the middle third, and that 25% of the time, the ball was in the opposition's defensive third, as opposed to only 7% in yours. I can also see that you've had more of the ball, in each area of the pitch.

The second graph indicates that 40% of the time, you attack down your left side, and 37% of the time you attack down the right. The opposition seems to prefer their left wing as well, although they heavily rely on it. You're a lot more balanced with your attacks.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.  That is very helpful.

  5. So, I have a young player who I think has a ton of potential.  A team has made an offer and they want to talk with them.  However, I want them to stay as I think they can develop into something good.  What should I do?  Should I let them talk to them or just block the deal?  If I block the deal they may get upset and not play well and hurt team chemistry.

    Any insight would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

The red is highlighting areas that have little coverage.

With a 3 at the back naturally there will be a lot more space out wide. It depends how its actually playing for you, but if you had something like Esseboom instead playing as a WB or Defensive Winger along with Currie as an IWB or Wide Midfielder you would probably find these areas get "better" coverage.

Keep in mind though its not necessarily terrible to have space for your opposition to attack. If you have players in the middle who come back and help defensively a false or ineffective opening down the flanks can be great for your side to build their own counter attacks from.

    Great, thanks for the insight.

What I'd do: approach the new coach and offer him/her a contract.

Ask the board for more coaches in the meantime (if possible). If yes, great.

If they decline, wait until the new coach agrees and is ready to sign. Then you're asked to fire someone to make space for the new person. I'd offer a mutual termination to the coach I'd want to part ways with. As soon as you confirm that, the new coach's contract is confirmed as well.

This way I wouldn't spend one day with less coaches than the limit.

Is there always the option to fire someone to make space for the new person?  I have not seen that option when signing a new coach and you are at the limit.

as an aside whilst no good for your save is there a case that the existing Coventry staff are better than their attributes? Can you check if any have recently undergone training for coaching badges in real life?

Thanks, I will check.  By the way, how do I send coaches to training?  Do I have to wait until it is offered or can I click on a coach and send them to training?

  9. So, in my journey to learn the game, I have a much better understanding of everything now except for player transfers.  I started a new Coventry save and I am going to try my hand in player transfers.  I will try to sell players - which I have never really managed to do because it seemed so complex to me.

I also need to figure out how to put people on loan, get players on loan and get rid of players that don't want to go.  One time I transfer listed a player and he was upset about being transfer listed.  So, I took him off the transfer list because I didn't want him to bring down morale.  Was that smart?  What should I do if an influential player doesn't want to be sold?

I welcome any advice.  For example, how do I know which players to sell?  Also, how do I know which high value players to sell?  Might it be something like I have an aging good player, but I have a young hotshot that is up and coming and can take his place so sell the older player?  What else do I need to consider?

    Pray for me - LOL!

I would also check you can attract better coaches first! Personally I wait until their contracts expire before making changes and as mentioned you may have to pay off contracts

You could ask the board if they will allow an increase in coaches you can have

This is definitely a strategy.  However, the coaches are really terrible and need to be replaced.  Like we are Coventry and our fitness coach is an 8.  That's a killer.  So, for some of the coaches I will wait until their contracts expires.  However, the really bad ones need to go sooner I think.

  11. Greetings Good People,

I have a board that has limits on the coaches I can have.  I need to replace a coach who is terrible.  Do I need to fire him first then find a replacement?  I tried to hire his replacement but the board said no because they felt there were enough coaches for that category of coach.

I don't want to fire him first then have to look for someone while we stay short a coach.  Should I just fire him right before the new coach accepts?  It's just that the further it gets, the board says no to proceeding with contract negotiations if I am over the coach limits.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks.

Up your mentality. Players on a support duty will take up more offensive positions by default. Also make sure your fullbacks are involved into attack. But that alone will proberbly not make you score more goals.

    Ah, I see.  Thanks.

I do know there are other things that affect goals.  However I did notice I don’t typically have many players in the attack.

  13. Watching Euro 2020 I see why I score so few goals.  I see that in the attack, here in the final between England and Italy, sometimes there are up to 8 players from a team in the attacking third.

How would I do that in FM?  I know it doesn’t make sense to have 8 players on roles of Attack.  So how do I get more players in the attacking third?

     Thanks.
