[Cannot hire backroom staff who are my favoured personnel when transferring to another club]

I've been experiencing this as well. It seems like it happens to the AI too. So a lof of the staff that is supposed to move just ends up fired.

Apologies if I'm wrong but what i've noticed is that the filters ARE actually working, the problem is that sometimes when adding a new filter it sets it automaticall on [OR] instead of [AND] at the beginning. 

So you would add Filter 1 - Position - CB

and you want to add Filter 2 - Age - Maximum 21 years old

It adds the second filter on OR for some reason, so you  will be shown all players for Position - CB AND all players up to 21 years old, basically the twofilters acting independently

[Transfer history - Staff not working at all]

I also checked with a FM23 save (10+ years in) and the staff history tab is blank for every team in every season. 

I didn't mind the rest of the bugs as much but this is really making me think of refunding.

I'm not sure if I can frame this as a bug, but Raphinha always starts as transfer listed by AI Barcelona. It's a bit odd since Barcelona are very thight on attackers and he's one of their best players. It's also a very low asking fee of around 34 mil.

Apologies if I may seem biased here but I'm really trying not to.

Pedri has been underrated in the previous editions of FM and it seems to be the same in this edition. 

He's got 162 CA and 176 PA.

In comparison, Camavinga - 165 CA and 180 PA

Valverde - 168 CA and 175 PA 

Bellingham - 168 CA and 188 PA

 

There is nothing to indicate that Pedri is below the three players mentioned above, him being constantly praised as one of the best midfielders in the world with potential to reach Xavi and Iniesta's levels. He won the golden boy award more than two years ago. The football world constantly compares Pedri and Bellingham as the next (if not current) top 5 midfielders in the world, yet he's 12 points below Bellignham's PA and he's fighting to reach Valverde levels in the game.

It seems to me like there is a Madrid bias in rating these players. Not to mention Modric being the 3rd best midfielder in the game (CA wise) at 37 when he's clearly regressed a lot in the past two years. And also Gaving being way below the 5 players mention even though he's been punching at the same weight, especially this season.

Can confirm, not only with this bug but also the release clasues have not followed real life for some time.

Fermin Lopez just got a 400mil release clause in his newest contract IRL and all the big names (Araujo, Pedri Gavi) have clauses of 1 bil nowadays, yet I'm seeing numbers of 100-150 mil max in FM. Even when you renegociate an existing contract the clause goes down from 1 bil to 100-150 mil.

This has always been a problem, and I'm very dissappointed that it hasn't been fixed in FM24. 

[Still too many old players in squads, too few young 20 yrs old on a world class level]

I don't know if it's just me, but in FM23 young players just don't develop. Every time my youngsters increase in some attributes, they drop back a month later. It's so incredibly frustrating, never happened in other FMs but this one makes me hate playing it.

In every save, in every season, I get a couple of 160+ PA youngsters that I play CONSTANTLY. Like I had 4-5 regens at Barcelona that got play time ahead of first team players, plus world class coaching, plus state of the art facilities. And 3 seasons in, I check their attributes progress [Development->Progress->attribute change since all time] and every single one of them has dropped attributes in technicals, with the only increases being in mentals and physicals. Checked their PA using the editor, all 175 to 195.

Same issue a save later, where I'm playing a smaller team with great facilities, a policy of develping youngsters and a great academy. I get a golden generation, and I sign some very, very promising young players. Start them right away, great personalities, great coaches, constant minutes, yet every time i get some green arrows, they drop back down weeks later so 0 progress is made. For every 1 player that actually gets better, 5 others don't. 

This applies for AI clubs as well. Check  youth intakes for top clubs, and see world class potentials coming through. Check them 3 years later, almost no improvement whatsover to their attributes. 

So no wonder clubs and national teams have old and age-ing squads, when the young players are crap. The ones that play are much worse than the older players, so there is no point in selecting them.

 

I attached some examples of player development, and all of them are 170 PA minimum. You might say there are some players developing well, but consider that most of these are all already past 21 years old, and have only hit 120-135 CA

Another occurence of this issue, but this time I got 3 staff members that say on their profile that they are retiring on the date 5/12/2026, which is today in the save file. Might be more helpful to investigae since it's right before they retire.

All 3 guys are 150+ PA and can be found in my staff shortlist: Mohamed Diame, Jerome Hinck (low CA so understandable), Stephane Tritz.

Coming back to this to say that something worse has happened now - a staff member retired WHILE he was part of my coaching team. At 37 years old! And with huge PA.

I signed him up fairly recently, but only a few months after he retired as a player. I'm guessing the game already decided he was going to retire as staff in the summer because of no job and it didn't reset after I signed him.

Jumping in to say that I've got the exact same issue. And it just happens that my club is also Arenas Club de Getxo.

May be worth mentioning that I created my B team after promotion in the 3rd league, so it wasn't there in the first place.

Thank you so much for putting this together. I returned to my save after the update and just a few matches in I couldn't help but notice my IF/IWs play exactly like they used to in FM21 where they don't cut inside and instead run wide with the ball, just after I praised the match engine pre-update on a separate post saying how happy I am that the IF/IWs finally play like they're supposed to. I thought I was losing my mind but it's actually true.

I've uploaded it on ownCloud and it's named Untebarra - Usu.fm . Not sure how to link it though.

This particular save is using a editor data that creates another league, and unfortunately I had already autosaved after the fact. But it happens almost every year, I notice it when I shortlist a lot of staff members.

I had it happen on my Barcelona save with no editor data loaded too, but I deleted that before the new update.
