I didn't, I had to wait for the team to get promoted to the National on their own

Season Review 2027/2028

SpoilerIt wasn't easy, we won the games we could and lost all the games we were supposed to. Against the top 6 held a record of 2 wins 3 draws and 7 defeats throughout the season, so it's quite clear where the ceiling for the team is at the moment. Still, I thought we could sneak into Europe somehow

As usual tho, that post January second half of the season just did not let us find any sort of consistency, I genuinely didnt know what to do at times. A tenth round exit against a Monaco side we've yet to beat in this save was just par for the course.
Board decided to build yet another new stadium as opposed to update our current newish stadium to meet Ligue 1 standards, so that's going to be interesting, at least they upgraded more facilities
Once again we lead the league in both tackles won and fouls made

Season 2026/2027
That was simultaneously easier and harder than I thought it was going to be, considering how lucky I was with some results thanks to an over performing defense
The second half of the season was brutal, with our ability to score whatever few chances each game seemingly gone and our defense's luck finally running out
plus ça change
In our deepest run in the cup yet, two easy draws saw us through to the quarter finals where I got lucky against a Nice team that was out of form only to lose against Lille in the semis
Meanwhile elsewhere in France
Beginning to think winning the CL is going to be easier than beating PSG

I just stole this, OL were incredibly unlucky not to score. I will be in trouble when my gk inevitably leaves, City already put in a bid and he's become tempted to leave.

Season 2025/2026
So After the usual winter struggles and some injuries it's come down to this.
We lost both ties with Bordeaux so reaching them was going to be a near impossible task but maybe, just maybe, second place was still possible..
It wasn't
...but promotion was our dream all along, we all knew such lofty ambitions was winning were for other people, right lads? ...lads?
Maybe
We'd have to go through the playoffs if we were to do it at all
First came Le Havre, having drawn both times we've faced them this season I wasn't overly confident
Okay, maybe. We'd have to beat whoever it was that got relegated from Ligue 1 this season and that wasnt going to be easy
Didn't they just get promoted last season? Could be worse

Still no foreign national academy prospect, all french, almost exclusively local
Game continues to give me a swarm of midfielders and no forwards and the few forwards I get have less than 9 finishing, this is going to force some creative tactical decisions

mid-season update: a few more facilities upgrades but more importantly, moved in to our new all-seated stadium and things are going well for us:
We are still the same in many aspects:
385 Fouls made, 475 tackles, 85% tackle won ratio, 55 yellow cards, 1 red, 2 Penalties conceded
Anxiously awaiting the inevitable January slump, plus ça change.

Is there some obscure requirement to be able to teach players to curl the ball? or is it one of those preferred moves that inexplicably cant be taught?
Because I've never seen that be an available option but I could just be looking in the wrong place.

2024/2025 Season Review
Upside: we didnt get relegated
Downside: so many important injuries
No consistency outside of that stretch in November
Yeah... we are that team, lot of grit and hard tackles and not a whole lot of clever defending and still manage to only concede one penalty all season apparently
Other stats of note, our set piece woes continue:

that +1gd tell me this season could've been so much worse. Sure, we caught so many teams on the counter but then we basically allowed them to score willingly. It was exciting but unreliable.
Our set pieces were terrible too, Last on Goals from Direct, Indirect Free Kicks and Corners.

Does anyone know if the half-back specific movement to drop into the defense still happens if the HB is played in DCMR/DMCL position? Or is it unique to the DMC slot?
