  1. Winning everything with Barca and complaining about the game being too easy? If you give current Barca a top class manager in real life, they could well win everything. Imagine Pep or Klopp managing those players.
  2. Have you actually played the game or are you just nit-picking every scoreline in which a user is winning against big clubs? You are not adding any meaningful contribution to the discussions now.
  3. Sure let me know if it works for you. Just one thing though, if you struggle to create chances or score, just remove the 'work ball into the box' TI. If you are still struggling, add 'counter' TI for transition.
  4. Just to bust the myth that AI cheats, here is a match I played vs AI Napoli as Sampdoria. They absolutely hammered me with 29 shots and 61% possession against my 5 shots and 39% possession. Result? I won 4-2. Screenshot:
  5. Where did I say you have to completely change your tactical approach? Just out of curiosity, what's the reason do you think Pep's City had less possession than Chelsea at home in the last match in real life? Why were they counter attacking time and time again rather than playing their usual controlled possession tactic? City had only 46% possession in that match.
  6. I just got hammered by Napoli with the same tactic I used to completely restrict Inter. But in the end Napoli got FMed by me. They had 29 shots and 61% possession against my 5 shots and 39% possession. Result? I won 4-2. Oh and my AMC was the best player on the pitch and was MoM. (Just in case people are wondering AMC position is "broken") Screenshot:
  7. Completely agree with the part in bold. I feel some of the frustration on here is due to people not able to get past the sensible defending.
  8. I have a genuine question to those who "can't get their players to pass forward because ME is broken" and "No through balls, ME is broken"- What efforts have you guys made in your tactics to create space in the center when the opposition doesn't want or isn't allowing you the space to play in the center?
  9. You may be trolling here but I would like to explain anyway. It's 4v3 advantage in the middle for me. Inter's 3-5-2 against my 4-3-1-2. Here's your extra man. And before you begin, just because a TQ doesn't tackle, doesn't mean he is useless defensively. He will still hold his position and help defensively.
  10. The mezzalas were on support, one of the forwards was false 9 and TQ was blocking the passing lanes in the center. In addition to this, I was using 'Be more disciplined' TI in addition to standard defensive line and standard LOE, which made it harder for Inter to play through the middle. All this on 'Balanced' mentality. So yes, I did not over-commit. And this absolutely doesn't prove it is easy to play against bigger teams as I had just lost against Juventus, Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina. Also lost against Bologna and Spal. All of that with a wide 4-2-4 which is called over-commiting. I dare you try a 4-2-4 in your first season with a mid table team and show us all if it's "easy" to play against bigger teams. I'm not a tactical wizard by any means but sometimes people here jump to conclusions so easily with regards to tactics without even understanding how it works. It's like they have years of real life managerial experience behind them. I find it funny.
  11. I'm going to try Advanced playmaker instead of Trequartista at AMC position in the next match against Parma (away). Let's see how it goes.
  12. I'm not arguing about defensive positioning. That is up for debate. But I have only conceded 1 penalty and received 1 penalty in 15 matches so far.
  13. It proves exactly the point I think I'm trying to make. I wanted to restrict chances against a big team and wasn't bothered about creating chances in this match especially. Try playing as a mid table team against a top 4 team in your first season in one of the big leagues and show me you can create clear cut chances without getting hammered at the other end.
  14. I started using this tactics for the last 4 games (Roma, Genoa, Torino and Inter) which I all won 1-0 (screenshot attached). Let's see how it goes in the long term. Before I started using this tactics, I was playing wide 4-2-4 which didn't work as much as I would have liked. I'll go back to that tactics once I have a settled position and cohesive squad.
  15. I think the current ME is great and here's why: I just played an Italian series A match in my first season (so no transfers) as Sampdoria (11th) vs Conte's Inter (5th). I won the match 1-0 with 'Balanced' mentality, 'no counter pressing', 'no counter', with 2 mezzalas, 2 forwards and a Trequartista at AMC position. I wasn't sitting back or wasn't over-committing. I restricted Inter to ZERO long shots and just a single half chance. Their 8 shots were just hopeful header and shots under pressure. Sure I didn't create much either but I was the underdog and had already lost to Juventus, Lazio, Milan, Fiorentina trying to play ambitious football. My tactics did EXACTLY what I wanted in this match even though there are no partnership links between my players and the cohesion is just about average. Loving this year's version. Here are some screenshots of the match:
  16. To those who think their "tactics don't make any difference", "ME is broken", "too many long shots" etc.. etc.. I just played an Italian series A match in my first season (so no transfers) as Sampdoria (11th) vs Conte's Inter (5th). 17. I do not play a counter attacking style. I play a very patient possession style tactics.
  18. That's clearly an exaggeration. The ME is no way near unplayable or bad.
  19. Currently my most influential players are AMR and AML. May be try making changes to your tactics? (try creating space for your AML/AMR) You just can't plug a tactic and expect ME to play the way you want. The game would have been very easy otherwise.
  20. I once again want to thank and congratulate SI on the best FM version released till date. I'm enjoying every single aspect of the game now and there are no major issues remaining anymore. For the first time in years, I am NOT waiting for another patch. I have criticised SI on glaring issues in the past but now I can honestly say this is by far one of the best simulation game in the market and is worth every penny. For me, tactics and ME are the most important parts and this is the best ME I have seen in a long time. The wing play issue has finally been cracked and it is as close as possible to real life wing play. In the past, no matter how hard I tried, I had to make compromises as far as wing play is concerned but now I'm seeing good interplay, intricate passing and movement and good decision making. In previous versions, even on slowest tempo, my players used to bang the crosses in mindlessly but now I can control when I want them to pass and when to cross. Perfect! I've also seen plenty of central through balls, square passes from the byline and cut back goals. I'm not having any long shot issues or too many long balls from the back either. One on one's are scored in realistic amount. Also, not having too many penalties or cards issues anymore. Injuries rate is realistic as well. People really need to spend some time working on their tactics before they come here and complain imo. What worked in previous versions, doesn't necessarily guarantees to work in current version. The ME has changed for good and so our tactics need to be adjusted accordingly as well. To all the the people who are finding decision making on the ball erratic, try lowering the tempo slightly. Your players will still play good (fancy one touch) football. This is just a suggestion based on what works for me. May or may not work for you as there are thousand variables involved in the simulation. Also, don't judge the ME based on few friendly matches. There is a big noticeable difference between how your team plays without cohesion and with cohesion, without motivation and with motivation, with bad morale and with good morale, with high tempo and with normal tempo. Is the ME perfect? No. Of course there is room for improvement and there always will be. For e.g. pressing triggers and Pep's and Conte's positional play can be implemented in ME imo. Football in real life changes every few years and the ME needs to keep up the pace with it. But for now, this is as close to real life football the ME has ever been. Thumbs up from me.
  21. The managers are recycled in real life far too much as well. There's nothing to 'fix' imo really.
  22. Most demo users seem to be reporting ME issues which were present before first beta update. What ME version is demo version on?
  23. Hi Josh, thanks for the update. Much appreciated. Could you please give a rough estimate on how soon we can expect this issue to be fixed? I can't start my long term save due to this. EDIT: Never mind. Hotfix is out now. Thanks a lot once again. Cheers.
