    Did another season in the Bundesliga where, again, manager of the year was won by the manager of the team who lost the relegation playoff match. I finished 2nd despite winning the league without losing a game - and I do have a save file from literally the day before it is all announced. What's the best way to get it to you?

    This just happened in my save too - annoyingly I don't have a save from just before it happened.

    However, I can confirm that it was the same award in the Bundesliga - and the manager who won the award was in charge of the team that got relegated after losing the relegation playoff - which appears to be the exact same circumstance as the issue Kinas reported. I won the league and finished 2nd in the award. The manager in question was Casemiro managing St Pauli in 2035/36 season - he'd been in charge all season and not won any cups or anything - just got relegated.

    I'll try and grab a save file if it happens again.

    Been a long time player of FMM and have to say that FMM23 has been both the most enjoyable and challenging iteration yet. It was definitely a lifesaver when I was stuck in hospital for a week with a broken ankle earlier this year so will forever be grateful for the game's existence. 

    Still, there's always a few little tweaks we'd all like, right? So, speaking as someone with absolutely no programming experience who would struggle to create a board game, here's a few things I'd perhaps like to see tweaked. Whether any of this is remotely possible or indeed desirable, I guess is up to you.

    Player ratings - I've noticed this has long been an area of discussion on here and, while it's definitely much improved from earlier versions, it still seems a tad peculiar on how it's all worked out. I suppose my main point of contention/intrigue is wondering whether anything changes/resets after half time.

    I ask this because there have been so, so many occasions where a team will be a few goals up and a number of players are playing at 8s (or 4s and 5s for the losing team) at the half time break - only for these ratings to immediately snap back for 6 or 7 almost immediately after the 2nd half begins. Interestingly, this 'reset' only seems to apply to players who gained their high/low rating without scoring/assisting/making a mistake leading to a goal.

    It's especially noticeable with goalkeepers. One match I was under siege in the first half and my goalkeeper was playing at a 9 come half time on account of making 4 or 5 amazing saves. The second half then kicks off, he's suddenly back down to a 7 without anything at all happening.

    Granted I have no idea how any of this is calculated or works so forgive my ignorance if I'm missing something - it just strikes me as both strange and unrealistic. I wonder if having a rating to one decimal place may be something which could be implemented in the future? Because let's face it, it's hard for a sub or (notoriously) a DM to get above a 6 - which in the context of the game is considered a poor performance and will ultimately affect morale/rating. 

    Able to edit set pieces during matches - Pretty simple this one. The option to amend your set piece setup is always greyed out during a match - despite many, many occasions where it'd come in useful to push a few extra guys forever/keep men back. No idea how easy it would be to implement but it'd be very useful.

    German national team - I realise due to licensing changes that there's no chance of the German national team picking real players anytime soon - without unofficial tinkering at least. But after playing for 15 odd seasons and the game is now flooded with top quality German regens, they're still picking greyed out players. Is there any way it can be set so regen players can be picked by Germany? I'm sure this eventually happens on the console version but I could be mistaken. Just a minor bugbear knowing that your German wonderkids will never go onto achieve international recognition.

    Reserves/Match fitness - This is perhaps just a case of me missing something but, when it comes to assigning a player to play in the reserves "until match fit", the option is pretty much always locked out unless the player is injured/low condition. This seems fair enough but I've got players in my first team who haven't played a minute all season, are noted as unfit in Medical Centre - yet the option to select them for the reserves 'until match fit' is locked out because their condition is 100% and, at least by that metric, they're considered 'match fit'.

    Basically, I just don't get it. If it is a legitimate discrepancy then it could definitely do with tweaking - if not, feel free to correct my ignorance.

    Anyway, that's all I had. Most are fairly minor, perhaps personal quibbles I've had with the game over the many hours I've enjoyed. Looking forward to FMM24 for sure and I appreciate if anyone actually took the time to read this.

  4. Speaking personally, every time I've been offered the chance the poach a youngster from another academy, it's been pretty much the same. Always 0.5 star rating and I never bother pursuing. Doesn't matter whether I'm a League Two club or a top European side, always the same low rating.

    That said, I think I'm right in saying that this was a new addition to FMM23 so it most likely just needs a bit of tweaking.

  6. I've found myself having a very similar issue post update.

     

    Was an ongoing save so not sure if the update has messed it up but, despite being top of the league, I'm suddenly on the verge of being sacked because the board is annoyed I didn't challenge for promotion despite being clear at the top.

    Further to this, they only wanted the playoffs so unclear as to why they're so annoyed but this wasn't a problem until i updated.

  8. Largely enjoying the Xbox edition on the Series X - find it a notable improvement from 2021. But I've noticed that, when you sign a new player, there doesn't appear to be any option to assign him a squad number and instead it will just give him the lowest free number. Nor are you given the option to set the squad numbers before the season begins.

    Or am I missing something incredibly obvious?

  9. Came across a very strange bug while playing FM21 Mobile recently. Was playing against Bournemouth as Forest a number of seasons in on the enchanced match engine with extended highlights. On about 23 minutes I fall behind. Perfectly legitimate goal. No hint of offside and no mention of VAR and the game kicks off again. I immediately amend my tactics to go more attacking and eventually force an equaliser later in the half - or so I thought. Turns out it was actually to go 1-0 up as Bournemouth's goal had suddenly disappeared. Completely. 

    Obviously that was a bit strange but I played on - eventually conceding a late equaliser and the game finished 1-1. Suspecting a bug, I saved a replay of the match so I could watch it again to clarify what had happened and send in the match as a bug. 

    So I watched the match replay and, sure enough, 23 minutes in Sam Surridge scored his goal. No offside, all legitimate - I was 1-0 down. However, while waiting for the goal to mysteriously vanish shortly afterwards like it had in the match, something even stranger happened. Not only did the goal remain, but the match "replay" then proceeded to show me a completely different match to the one which had actually played out - Bournemouth winning 2-0 and one of my centre mids getting injured.

    Going back into my save, the result was the one I had ultimately finished with 1-1, albeit with a 23rd minute Bournemouth goal mysterious vanishing. Yet the saved match replay not only keeps the 23rd minute Bouremouth opener, but then deviates into a completely different match with Bournemouth winning 2-0. 

    I've got the match replay and save if you require it. Just figured I'd give you some initial context to this weird fault. It's not the first time I've noticed goals vanishing either.

    Team: Dorking

    Mode: Career

    Nations loaded: England, Germany, Italy, Holland, France (all leagues for each one).

    Pretty basic fault here and I'm quite surprised a search hasn't thrown it up. In any case, I figured I'd flag it up in case it's been missed:

    As you can see from the screenshot, the substitution graphic basically has the player(s) coming off marked as though they're coming on (and vice versa). This happens every time a substitution happens during a highlight and I imagine it's a quick fix.

    Anymore info needed, let me know.

  11. Having played Football Manager games since way back in the days of Championship Manager 2, I must say I'm enjoying FM21 Xbox Edition. Sure, it's a learning curve using a controller instead of a mouse but, once past the initial culture shock, it's pretty simple to use.

    Had never played FMT before so was a little surprise to see a lack of team talks, but that's considerably negated by touchline shouts being readily available and ultimately serving the same purpose. Can't say I miss press conferences too much and all the tactical goodness is still there. Plus online play, which I'm very much looking forward to giving a shot.

    There's a fair few bugs and glitches obviously, but that's been the case with newly released games for years now. Give it a few updates and these will be smoothed out and all will be well.

  12. Done some more testing last night and it does seem to only be the players condition which resets and locks at 100%. The ratings and mood can still fluctuate.

    Has anyone else had this issue? It literally happens to me every time after opening a player's profile - their position will be removed from the line up toolbar and their condition will reset to 100% and seemingly remain there for the rest of the game. It always corresponds with the player whose profile you open and does the same thing if you open the profile of an opposition player mid match.

  13. Found a bizarre glitch/fault which can be triggered during matches on Xbox edition.

    Playing on an Xbox One and noticed that, if during the match you open up the profile of an individual player, once you return to the match it will seemingly corrupt their stats/general functionality in the bottom toolbar with your fielded XI.

    To use the screenshots I've attached as an example, during the match I opened up the profile of my number 9 McShane to check his attributes/positional ability and, upon hitting RT to return to the match, I noticed that not only was his position removed but his condition had suddenly shot back up to 100% and seemingly locked there (He'd played the whole game and this screenshot was at around 80+ minutes). It also seemed to lock his current match rating and mood.

    Further to this, as per the second screenshot, it pretty much screws up the individual instructions sub menu and renders it unresponsive.

    For what it's worth, this wasn't a one off. The next game I tried to replicate it by briefly leaving the match to open random profiles of players on the pitch and, low and behold, the exact same thing happened - the player who's profile I'd viewed suddenly had their condition shoot back up and lock at 100% along with the rest of the aforementioned glitches. Every, single time.

    Interestingly enough, if you open up the profile of an opposition player who's currently on the pitch, after hitting RT to return to the match, their condition will max out and lock too.

    Try it. Happens every time without fail.
