  1. I have had some amazing youth intakes lately and i have some attackers with world class potential and now I am looking to build a tactic and squad that is specifically designed to get the best out of them.

    Simon Walker

Probably the best out of the 3, this guy already has 13 goals in 26 prem games as 16-17 year old and has actually carried my team at times. I'm reluctant to ask him to drop deep due to his relatively low vision and teamwork compared to his finishing so I'm thinking of playing him as an attack duty. Due to his flair and first touch and passing, though, I think that he would be best being allowed to roam about and not just trying to break the last line and scoring. I think his ideal role would be CFa or DlFa

    Keren Tal

Tal definetly doesnt suit a support role that drops deep due to his relatively low passing, vision and teamwork. On the other hand, he has crazy flair and dribbling, and with high quickness, I can easily see him drifting wide and causing trouble by running at the defence. He could easily make space for walker by doing this without having to drop deep on support. His crossing also is not bad so it may not be a bad idea to train him as an inside forward(a) or as a winger, allowing walker to play up front on his own.

Slightly younger and not quite as developed yet, i see Veraet as the playmaker of the team, spraying passes for Walker and Tal to run on to. Excellent passing and descisions makes him a perfect player to dictate the tempo and control games.

I think that these roles and duties would get the best out of the players. I think they would be best focusing play through Varaet, so I've left the full backs on support or defending roles, to allow the front 3 more freedom. I feel like rather than trying to use the full width of the pitch, I would rather create a solid base and allow the flair of the front 3 to break down tough defences, only bombing forward when there is little risk in losing the ball.

I'm thinking of asking Tal as the advanced forward to try and stay wider to drag defenders out of positions, then he can create space for Walker, as well as giving Tal a chance to collect the ball, then use his dribbling and flair to run at the defence from the sides, or use his decent crossing. I would have to experiment but I think Walker may change to a CFa because he has the talent to be allowed to do what he wants.

At the moment, due to personnel, the centre mid is a dlp, but I would probably look to buy a midfield destroyer in this position and turn Veraet into an advanced playmaker and let him orchestrate play.

    Another option could be:

There are some instructions that I reckon should be kept consistent no matter the tactic:

Exploit the middle: I want the ball to get to veraet as much as possible so that he can control games

Be more expressive: Walker and Tal both have 17 flair and Veraet has good technique and excellent descisions. Self explanatory

Higher dline + more intense pressing: I'm only using these instructions because these 3 would be much more comfortable on the ball than without it. Only walker has a work rate above 10 so they unlikely to put in so much of a shift tracking back. This means that I always want to be winning the possession battle. I havnt gone overboard with pressing due to the low work rates, teamwork and aggression. Maybe I can make up for this with transfers for the other positions.

How would you guys try and get the best out of these 3?

Also, if anyone is interested then I would be happy to keep this thread going with updates about how I develop these 3 hopefully into world class players.
