  1. Apr 2051. Scottish Premiership. 2 points from a possible 12 this month is awful, and I think is simply a result of us crashing out of Europe and the accompanying morale hit. UEFA Europa Conference League. What a way to go out. I felt exhausted after watching this game. They scored 2 goals in the last 10 mins, (the 2nd in the 5th min of injury time to force Extra Time), but then led in ET before we took it to pens. Debuts. Records. U21's. A 2nd trophy of the season for our U21's. U18's. Goal-scoring GK's. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). (23) Ewing (Bal) 6'1" is 17/20 from the spot at 85%. 2. anywhere but England. Go somewhere weird and it may well turn out wonderful. Luxembourg all the way between the 2.
  3. Mar 2051. Scottish Premiership. The 2nd Team have been in good form in Europe, and the truth is that we battered Dunfermline but they scored 2 goals and we scored 0 goals. UEFA Europa Conference League. The 2nd Team playing really well in Europe and we're approaching the business end of the competition. Records. Internationals. Facilities. Goal-scoring GK's. 4. There's a fair bit of both PA and CA there by the looks of it, and I like the Det/Personality at the top of the list, but there's still 3x L.Det lower down + 2x Unamb who also have L.Det, (so 5 negatives in all). We will just have to see how they develop. The longer I play now the less notice I seem to take of intakes, (other than personalities and positions).
  5. Feb 2051. Scottish Premiership. After smashing 10 goals past Celtic in 2 games, we're up to 1st but Hibs still have 2 games in hand and are only 4 points behind. Scottish Cup. (The Big one). I'm starting to get the hump with the Cup now. U21's. Goal-scoring GK's. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). 6. Jan 2051. Scottish Premiership. 2 more wins, (making it 7 wins from 8 games in the league), moves us up to 3rd. Although we're only 2 points off Celtic & Hibs, they have 3 games and 1 game in hand on us respectively. Even Aberdeen behind us in 4th have a game in hand. Scottish Cup. (The Big one). A nice comfortable win sees us through to the next round where we will play Cowdenbeath who are currently top of League 1. Debuts. Records. Goal-scoring GK's. 7. Dec 2050. Scottish Premiership. It's been a fantastic month even with the narrow loss away to Aberdeen at the end. The good news though is that we're only 2 points behind Aberdeen and we're 7 points ahead of Ross County in 5th and have a game in hand. I've noticed that Kilmarnock have 3 games in hand on us back in 6th, but they're also 21 points behind so it's less of an issue. There's a huge gap between Ross County in 5th and Kilmarnock in 6th. UEFA Europa Conference. The 2nd Team are flying in Europe right now and we only missed out on top spot on goal difference. Records. Debuts. Youth Intake Preview. 8. I forgot to say thanks by the way, so Thank You. I think I would prefer them to use my tactic and not be able to control anything, but I will experiment and see what I can sort out in terms of delegating bits and pieces. Thanks again.
  9. When I look at Development Centre - U21's this is what I see. When I look at Development Centre - U18's this is what I see. The reason I see that is because on top of selecting the team, (because I haven't worked out how to do this yet), I'm also in control of individual training for both U21's and U18's. I'm going to try and delegate everything and see what happens. Ok, I delegated everything related to U21's and U18's, (even the signing and selling of players), and it seems to have worked. I can't begin to tell you how long I have spent trying to work this out. The question now is what I can take control of without the Primary Tactic changing.
  10. I had thought for ages that I was just being stupid and couldn't see it, but nothing I do is making it clear what I'm missing.
  11. I know this was possible in the past, but for some reason I'm unable to get my U21's and U18's playing with the same Tactic as the Senior Team. For the record, I'm using an edited database, (Scotland), which links the Amateur and Professional structures and offers a route from the bottom, (Tier 13), to the Scottish Premiership. The reason I mention this is because I'm wondering if my issues might be linked with the edited database, or simply the low level that the club started at. My Senior Team play a 523 Tactic in every game no matter what. The U21's were playing 442 before I sacked whoever was in charge and took control myself. The U18's were playing with a 433 tactic before I got rid of the manager and took charge myself, but then you will see when I delegated responsibility for 1 match in November it went to a 4231 before I took charge again and reverted to a 523 again. I seem to remember that there was an option to "Make Team play with Senior Tactic", (or something like that), but for the life of me I can't find it and I'm now convinced that it's not here. I don't know if it just doesn't exist in my game or whether this is a big or a a problem with the edited database, or the low level (Tier 13), that the club came from. This is the 1st Team Tactic and there doesn't seem anyway on this page to make the junior teams play using this tactic. If I click on the U21's then it shows the same tactic, but as soon as I delegate responsibility of the U21's to another staff member they play a different tactic. When I click on the sub menu's across the top, this is what I see. There's nothing there that I can use, but in the back of my mind I always thought that the instruction to do with was part of the Staff-Responsibilities page. I promise you I've looked and looked and looked, but there is just nothing there. The only options I can see in the Tactics section are as follows. I thought there was a tickable box below here that said something like, "use 1st Team Tactic". It could be that it's under a different section, but I still can't find it. (This is the section I really thought it was in). I should add that I'm using an edited skin, so it's possible that the issue is skin related. The other thing that makes me think it's a big, (or skin related), is because I'm also having a problem with not receiving Training emails for either the U21's or U18's, despite them clearly being ticked, and I wonder if this relates to us starting at such a low level that we didn't have U18 or U21 Teams to start with, and also because this is a long-term save that I have continued on from the Beta or Early Access or whatever we're calling it now. I have a workaround for the Training emails, (I just check the training page for the Individual squads when I receive the 1st Team training email), but I can't find a workaround for the preferred tactic option. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks in advance.
  12. He's an average defender, but he's just so much better on the ball than our other defenders that it actually works well. His passing stats are good, but they're not amazing because he makes progressive passes rather than lots of tippy tappy stuff to another defender. The usual pattern is our GK or centre-half passing to him in an advanced central position and then he plays a diag out wide to play a WB into an attacking area for them to deliver the ball into a threatening area.
  13. Nov 2050. Scottish Premiership. The Celtic result was to be expected, but the Dunfermline draw was an abomination. UEFA Europa Conference League. 2 more wins puts us in a group of 3 teams at the top on maximum points. League Cup. It's a good just that this is just a group of friendlies, because if it wasn't then I really wouldn't be happy. We were awful at both ends and couldn't even score from the spot when given a chance. 14. The Coach sackings was long overdue. I'm a bit lost with the U21's and U18's tactics if I'm honest. The workaround I'm currently using is to have sacked the Manager of each and actually kept responsibility to picking the teams myself, but that's actually not what I want to do. I want to delegate the running of the teams, but I want them to play with a certain tactic. It was always possible to do that in the past but I just don't seem able to do that now. Would you mind posting a walkthrough of how you do it please so I can try and wok out what's going wrong here? I've set the tactics of U21's amd U18's to the same as 1st Team, and now when I delegate Team Selection the 1st Team Tactic stays there but we will have to see what happens when we have a game. Nope, didn't work. The U18's reverted to a 4231 in their next game. I will ask for my next licence at the end of the season. I think feeder clubs is a good shout, but I'm not really sure what's going on with the training at the moment. I keep putting it off, but yeah I should be looking for feeders now. I can't ask for a Reserve side yet. I also can't ask for any staff for the U21's. (Just 1st Team and U18's).
  15. Oct 2050. Scottish Premiership. This appears to be a poor month at 1st glance, but when you take into account that 2 of the 3 losses were mid-week games played by the 2nd Team, it's perhaps not as bad as it appears. Importantly we're 5 points clear of 5th, and our goal difference is surely also worth another point. UEFA Europa Conference. 2 games, 2 wins for the 2nd Team. Goal-scoring GK's. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). (23) Ewing (Bal) 6'1" is 17/20 from the spot at 85%. (Is no longer at the club). 16. Sep 2050. Scottish Premiership. A brilliant month with maximum points. UEFA Europa Conference. Just the 1 game in the Group stage this month, but we sneaked a late winner and it's a great start to the league phase. League Cup. Who cares. it's just a bunch of friendlies right! Debuts. Internationals. Goal-scoring GK's. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. (Is no longer at the club). (23) Ewing (Bal) 6'1" is 17/20 from the spot at 85%. (Is no longer at the club). 17. Restructuring of Staff. Sep 2050. Loan Manager. I think this is the only way to make sure they all play the same tactic now. I used to be able to just tick a button, but SI seem intent on making so much stuff far more complicated than it needs to be. I will look again to see if I can dictate the formation without managing everything, but it certainly wasn't possible with a dedicated Manager in charge of each team. U18's Manager. I'm still not getting Training emails for my U21's and U18's and can't work out why. I've opened a huge can of worms now. I'm having to go through them all. I haven't sacked everyone, but I have at least decided on those will need to be replaced at some point. There are no U21 staff and it appears that we can't have any either. I need to check what happens to players in the U21 squad in terms of training, and maybe make players available for U21's rather than put them in there until I know 1 way or another how that works.
  18. I've loaned out a few and after listening to @TIR669I will try to get a few more out on loan before the window closes, but rather than just selling young players for their potential, (whether it be real or imagined), I want clubs playing top dollar for our 1st choice strikers in a sellers market and then I just want to replace them with the next player on the list. The idea of selling youngsters doesn't seem sensible at this stage, (especially when we play 3 up front). In my head I want to sell the following strikers this season, but as soon as I list them I will get lower offers, so instead I want to just let their performances do the talking. When they go, (with add-on clauses galore), I want to just wish them all the best and then switch the next kid in there, rinse and repeat. I think we've produced so many strikers that I might have to resort to selling decent prospects who have never played for us, but that reminds me I have to sack the HoYD.
  19. I actually have had 2 sons in the game, (although none for a while). I had 1 in my San Marino save in FM14, (he was rubbish), and then I had another one at the end of another save and he was rubbish too, (but I can't remember where that was). Haven't had one for ages though. The family links are definitely not working as intended though. Such a shame because although it's cosmetic, I like things like that.
  20. The problem is though that I've have had the same/similar tactic for a few years now, (real life years), and I mould players to it rather than play them in their preferred position. The idea of playing a striker as a DLF(a) just because that's what suits him, is a big no-no for me. Having said that, I mentioned in a recent post that as we progress and become dominant domestically, we do have a history of the AF(a) in the central SC slot having a problem with his goals drying up and I have used a DLF(a) in that slot, (because it's what sort of happens anyway), but it's not something I want to do at this stage of the save. When we gain domestic dominance and start battering teams, what happens is that the WB's completely dominate and get quite high up the pitch and this forces the 2x PF(a) inside a little more. Because his space is getting squeezed from both sides, the AF(a) actually drops deeper and links play, (not at all what I was expecting), but I remember looking at the role description and thinking it made sense, (in an attempt to find space). In any case, you'll be pleased to hear that because (40a) Brass4 (F.Pro) * has been injured, (40o) Banner (F.Pro) * stepped up to the 1st Team and (47b) Smith (Det) * was promoted to the 2nd Team where he made 3 starts.
  21. I'm sure you're probably correct with a lot of this, but of course there is a balance to be had between playing players for what they will do now, and playing them in order to boost their development, for the player that they will one day become. We have just under £15M in the bank, and what I'm hoping/expecting is that someone will make me an offer for either (41b) Gourley (NIR)(F.Sport)* and/or (40a) Brass4 (F.Pro) *, that is either accepted over my head by El Chieftain, or which I will negotiate/accept myself. We are absolutely a selling club, but at the same time it doesn't make sense to sell them earlier than I have to, and you might have noticed, (not sure if I've included this in any recent posts), but many of them are all on long-term contracts with options to even extend that. If we just look at strikers only, (so some wide attackers may not be included yet), then have a look at this for the contract expiry and also the options to extend. (40a) Brass4 (F.Pro) *, (40o) Banner (F.Pro) * & (37i) Morrison (Pro) are the only senior strikers who we don't have an option on, and they are contracted for 3, 3, & 4 years, so I'm really in no rush to sell them either. At 26, 25 & 29 years old respectively, these players are probably due to be replaced soon anyway, (certainly the latter 2), but I really would even be keen to sell (40a) Brass4 (F.Pro) * if we get a big bid for him, (he's valued at £17.5M-£19.5M). (40a) Brass4 (F.Pro) * has been injured for the start of the season so we haven't seen much of him, As usual we have shared the goals about, but it's interesting to see what positions have scored what goals at this early stage. SLC. (45a) Pobořil (CZE) (Spirit) * (2+0) + (48b) Rodger (IRL) (Merc) * (2+2) = 4 goals and 2 assists. SC. (41b) Gourley (NIR)(F.Sport)** (4+1) + (37i) Morrison (Pro) (4+0) = 8 goals and 1 assist. SRC. (40o) Banner (F.Pro) * (1+2) + (47b) Smith (Det) * (1+0) = 2 goals and 1 assist. When you consider that our best SRC (40a) Brass4 (F.Pro) * isn't on the list, (because he was injured and hasn't appeared much but has contributed 0 goals + 2 assists), then things look even better. I'm delighted with how we've started. Although there are some strikers out on loan already, I've taken onboard what you've said and I actually agree with you about more of them going out on loan. The window closes tomorrow so I doubt they will all go, but I've listed (50a) Donald (F.Det) 6'0" *, (49b) Courts (Bal) *, (48a) Edwards (F.Det) 5'5" *, (49a) Forbes (F.Pro), (49c) Halkett (Bal) * & (47a) Currie (Bal) 6'1" * for loan. You're correct about not being able to manage them properly in the U18's. They've been playing a 433 DM wide formation and the only way to stop it is to sack the U18's manager and so far I've just been too lazy to do that. It does need doing though. With regards to selling players though, I don't really want to sell fringe players at this stage. I want to sell our best strikers for BIG money because they have scored 25+ goals and then replace them with the next player. I'm not sure how realistic that is though.
  22. Aug 2050. Scottish Premiership. I'm personally delighted that we're sitting so high after our Europa Conference Qualifying campaign. The only game we lost was against Aberdeen, (one of the current Big 3 with Celtic & Hibs), so to navigate the opening 5 games of the season and only lose once is brilliant. The 2nd Team were playing at weekends while the 1st Team were qualifying in Europe, but now that's over we will revert to the 1st Team playing at the weekend and the 2nd Team playing during the week. UEFA Europa Conference. What a brilliant set of results this is! I was dismayed when I saw that we had drawn Portugese opposition, and then when I saw that we had Leverkusen if we beat them I was sure that our travels in Europe wouldn't last very long. In actual fact we were well worth our wins and if anything could and should have won by more. The 1st Leg against Rio Ave was a tight affair, but we should have finished the tie in 90 mins but we missed a pen and let them off the hook. Thankfully we scored twice in ET and squeezed through to face the Germans. In the 1st Leg against Leverkusen we finished strongly and scored 2 late goals to give us the advantage. In the 2nd Leg we battered them though and they were lucky to get 0. We were comfortably the better side and fully deserved to progress. I wanted you to see what round it was clearly, but I also wanted to show you the scorers, so I have shown the info twice to get everything in. The big thing for me isn't just the money and the reputation that we will gain by progressing to the Group stage, but 6 more European matches on top of the 4 we've already played this season will really help with developing our young squad and far from weakening us with a tougher fixture list, if anything I think we will thrive due to the size of our squad. The other thing to consider of course is that if we can get past Portugese and German opposition, shouldn't we also be looking to progress to the next round when we're playing teams from Turkey(x2), Czech Republic, Belarus, Belgium & Switzerland? Besiktas will obviously be tough nuts to crack, but the others should be easier than Portugese & German opposition shouldn't they? League Cup. Even if we win this, it will still be a group of friendlies. I don't know why I'm even bothering to show you the results. Debuts. Goal-scoring GK's. (23) Brass (Bal) 6'2" is 5/8 from the spot at 63%. 23. (47b) Smith (Det) * was on the bench for the 1st league game, (but didn't get on). He's set to play in the U21's and they have 9 competitive games scheduled. I think as we lose players due to International duty, injury and suspension, (47b) Smith (Det) * will start to be slowly introduced to Senior football. He's a Poacher so probably most suited to playing through the middle as an AF(a), but actually I look at him, (he's another short striker who's 5'9"), and with decent crossing and good athletic ability I wonder if he might be better suited playing on the right of a 3 up front. Where would you be playing and instead of whom @turnip?
