player animations to show skills. step overs turns etc

and players rounding the keeper when one on one

being able to edit your own kits a season into the game

As much as I'd love to see this, I think a serious graphical overhaul might be needed before detailed animations.

I do long for an FM with modern graphics. I know, I know, the purists don't care, and it's not about the graphics, but sheesh, an updated 3D engine would really be excellent.

I'd take mid 2000's FIFA graphics happily, Even late 90's early 2000's FIFA would be better than the 1980's graphics we have now.

I’ve seen a few reports in my in box saying that outside events have had a dramatic effect on a player. These events can either be good such as a steep increase in determination or professionalism or bad such as a steep decline in determination or professionalism. There must be a random event generator in the game.

Must be something like that. Maybe I missed a notice that something was seriously affecting him.

Did you give him a big contract recently and how old is this player? Did you get any news items about recent off field events affecting him? Is he being mentored?

It's his 1st year at the club on a Key Player contract. His wages are slightly higher than squad average.

Could it be that a player who finally gets a big contract just completely gives up determination wise?

  3. Never seen such a drastic decline so quickly in a player's determination. My average determination in my squad is 15, with club personality as professional. Lots of good characters in the team and everyone at least fairly professional.

Is this some hidden attribute like ambition or something? I brought him in to be my midfield general for the next 10 years, now not so sure. He stills shows Fairly Professional

Which brings me to the second point I mentioned.  The market leader in this area has a quite frankly terrible implementation.  Not exactly their fault, you can only code so many phrases in, and there's only so far some creative butchering of said phrases can give the impression of intelligence.  Play the game enough, and there's nothing original there.  And that's with massive financial backing available to actually improve it.

If you think you're going to get a system that doesn't become repetitive on a fairly short timeline, then you're thinking about something that simply doesn't exist.  And what are you basing the nebulous "technology has improved" on?  You're still reacting to events with a fixed script, and I don't imagine they're going to go away and build this incredible artificial intelligence that can do it better, while neglecting to do the same for AI elements that would bring benefit to everyone.

I'm not so sure of the "effort" that EA have put into their audio. Oh wow, they added Lee Dixon in FIFA 19. But with the money they have it would be no sweat for them to add many more lines of commentary for different situations. That's really all it is, recording the lines and then associating them with actions that take place in-game.

Using EA as the benchmark for what a massive studio can do is nonsense, because they put zero money back into their game.

  5. I'm constantly contributing some of the player's wages to the buying club. It's part of my new strategy for selling unwanted players. I don't mess about trying to extract as much value any more, I find it an exercise in frustration management.

Now I transfer list them for cheap and also offer out to clubs with me contributing 30 odd percent of their wages. ESPECIALLY if they're in the last year of their contract. I get instant offers and get the sale done quickly. Instead of countless "there are no offers for this player" emails and incrementally lowering their price. Waste of time IMO when I'm never going to get their value anyway.

This was doubly true for a youth player who I thought I was offering 2,500 a week. I didn't realize until about a month later that I'd accidentally put him on 250k a week! Needless to say I was contributing the lion's share of his wages when I finally moved him on!

  6. I don't even bother anymore with trying to maximize the fee I get for unused players. For example, I'm managing Arsenal. I decided to sell Ozil. I didn't even attempt to get the 40 odd million he was worth. I simply listed, him set his price at half his value.

Same thing with Mustafi, same thing with Calum Chambers. All 3 went for between 10-20 million.

The difficulty level of getting in a decent fee for an unused player is simply not realistic. Of course IRL an out of favor player (i.e. Ross Barkley) won't go for a fortune. But there's plenty of examples of out of favor players still going for very decent money simply based on their reputation.

  7. The little graphical glitch at the beginning of games and 2nd half is very off putting. I'm sure it's been mentioned, but it's where when you're first brought to the pitch screen for kick off the players are bunched together and then are quickly split up and put in their normal on field positions. It definitely cheapens the experience especially before a big match, just takes me right out of the game. Hopefully that's sorted out for the full release.

  8. One audio issue is that the crowd noise sort of cuts in and out. Not in front of the game now but it happens in game I think when leaving the tactics screen or maybe it's when going to a highlight after a period of simming. It's very unpleasant and grating on the ears.

When the crowd noise pops in and out is a little weird. It's like there's a delay between a highlight and when it starts just simming the match if that makes sense.

  9. Maybe this should go in bug reports, but when you click continue the calandar screen that normally shows is buggy. The workaround is if you drop down the calendar button right before you click continue it will look normal.

When looking at scouting screen I like the idea of having the players' position charts available, I'm just not sure it works. It's very small on the screen, would much rather have their main position only. It looks much cleaner and less cluttered.

Maybe in time I will get used to the tactics screen, but right now I just don't like it. The either/or option of having your graphical tactic or your list up is silly. The old way of having both up at the same time is much more practical. I love the graphical tactics representation, but it's useless for changing players. No one wants to do changes off the sub bench, I'm sure most people like to see their full squad.

  10. I have to say I'm not crazy now how in the staff and player searches you have to click on the "Edit Search" instead of having all your filters up top where you can pick and choose more readily.

Not a big deal, but just adds extra clicking. I guess it was a space thing to have to open it in a small window?

Also I feel it's a big letdown to not give us back the ability to use our own photo for our manager profile. It's such a simple thing and everyone was clamoring for it back last year.

possible with grid system.with damiao or cavani idon2t rememnber i had 100+ goal in a only league season.

Yes, it's possible. on FM15 I signed Cavani for Arsenal who got me 76 goals in a season. Followed up by 68 or something the following season. Whenever I thought he would slow down he kept banging them in. And that was in Premier League. So it makes sense that an over powered player in the Welsh league could do it.
