So, this dude wants to go from one russian club to another russian club, in order to "test himself in better division"?

Those toxic random events should be fixed, this is embarraasing.

Not only that, the player is contracted to Zenit (biggest reputation in Russia) and wants to leave for SKA. That's quite the fall

  2. Cruzeiro is definitely interesting and challenging considering it's the first time they got relegated, they have a lot of debt due to corruption and FIFA punished them docking some points. In real life they are on relegation places to Série C. This Brazilian giant is a mess.

Coventry City seems to be interesting now that they got promoted back to the Championship. They are traditional, has very good training grounds yet still they are underdogs. That would most probably be one of my FM21 saves.

Inter Miami would be nice if you play FM21 Mobile since it's their debut season. There's also the addition of Mexico, Canada and Argentina as playable leagues that complements MLS nicely.

I don't know if its little but being unable to just run a regular 343 without moving both MF into DM slots or WB into WM slots.

I think FM is really lacking for three defender systems as a whole. Working to replicate Bielsa's 3313 earlier this year showed a lot of faults in the tactics creator, chief among them being that when you utilize 3 defenders, the outside CB pay no mind to the wide areas of the pitch and compress into the backline whenever the ball is lost. Man-marking outside CBs to wingers or inside forwards doesn't really affect this.

Worse still, the benefits of a system such as a 343 cannot be fully realized within FM because of the way the tactics creator dishes out the areas of responsibility. A manager like Pep Guardiola uses positional play in a much smarter manner than FM's tactics creator. 30 areas of responsibility dispersed evenly across the pitch opposed to 20 more intelligently partitioned zones. It helps reveal the underlying problems with how reality becomes translated into the game. I'm not saying that SI needs to fully replicate it, but the disparity between how true football positions are utilized versus how FM does is far too great for a game which prides itself on realism.

True. The game practically screams at you to get LBs/RBs if you're playing with 3 CBs when it shouldn't be that way

FM's tactics module considers a formation with two fullbacks and three central defenders as a 5-x-y.  A formation with three central defenders, two players in the wingback spots and two DMs is a 3-4-x.  A formation with three central defenders, two wide midfielders and two central midfielders is a 3-4-x.  A formation with three central defenders, two wingbacks and two central midfielders is a 5-2-x.  A formation with three central defenders, LWB, RWB, two DMs and a CM is a 3-5-x.  A formation with three central defenders, LWB, RWB, a DM and two CMs is a 5-1-2-x.  A formation with three central defenders, LWB, RWB, DM, two CM and an AM in a diamond is a 5-4-x Diamond; if the AM is moved to the left or right center spots it becomes a 5-3-1-x.  That's inconsistent both internally and with how those formations are talked about IRL.  Any formation with three central defenders and wide defenders in the LWB and RWB spots should be a back three rather than depending on the positioning of the central midfield players.

Same problem here with some Brazilian teams, they play a default narrow 4-4-2 with 2 DMs + 2 CMs (instead of 2 DMs + 2 AMs that were supposed to emulate old-style real life formations)

If you go to a specific player you can ask he mentor players and you might be able to pick the 'relaxed' kid from that ... however do bear in mind that to mentor someone a player has to have a certain seniority within the club, ie. a wonder kid can't tutor other kids etc.

PS - If you go to the kid and select 'find a mentor' and use the left-right arrows on the find mentor page to look through all the players who are valid to mentor players. They are sorted by 'compatibility' however and it might be that he isn't particularly interested/compatible with professional players (which is somewhat to be expected) ... sometimes you have to force these things to happen ;)

Oh I see! Actually I've found Konaté laying around RB Leipzig when Juventus made a bid for him so I went and bought him because his personality is Very Ambitious, he looks professional in training and my Assistant says my Relaxed kid can "learn a lot with him"! Let's just hope that Konaté's traits can rub off on that kid eventually!

By the way thanks for the answer~

Depends on the tactics you use. I think you'd be better off training him as an inside forward rather than a defensive wringer. He has poor tackling, positioning and strength but good pace, is right footed and good shooting.  What tactics/formation do you use?

Pace 18 / Shooting 14 / Movement 15 seems like a really good combination for an Inside Forward with an Attack duty. I can see him becoming a prime goalscorer in a 433 by making good runs into the box and finishing off.

With below average (for a top league that is) Creativity / Passing / Stamina, I would rule out most Support and Defensive roles. I would try to improve his Technique to make his Shooting even more deadly. With his Pace and off the ball Movement he is bound to get a lot of shooting situations if you design a system for him.

Also he could alternatively write Das Kapital part 2 and seize the means of production. (sorry)

Last season I got a treble (Supercup, Bundesliga and Champions League) mainly using a 4-1-4-1 with left/right midfielder wingers. According to the game most of my players' best suited role at left/right attacking midfielders is inside forward - but for some reason they simply tend to play better/get better notes as regular, vanilla wingers.

The best way to develop a player is to ease him into a role he can play in with your first team. Manage his training don't over play him when he is young and find him a good mentor to learn from.

There's a problem though: my assistant says the 4 possible mentors he displays to me to choose both don't have positive personalities and aren't suitable for his tutoring. What can I do?

A great season again, Grand Hotel also getting back-to-back promotions, how will we both get on in the 2nd tier?

Dude look at Group A! There's a club called Coca-Cola and they almost got promoted!

I expect 30 goals to be hit in a season by a GK! I will deffo be following that if and when it happens.

It's the Rogério Ceni legacy of goalies!

Also I would be pretty eager to see Makoto manage a Brazilian club, just choose the Northeast state wisely and you can do it!

No problem! I had never read their name before. I'm looking at them in my save and they have much better facilities than you'd expect from a club at their level (great training facilites, average JC, etc.). Would be an interesting save.

    Yes.

Actually, Desportivo Brasil is more of an academy focused on developing youth prospects. They have partnerships with teams from China, hence their nickname "Chinese Dragon"
