  1. Calcio Catania Season 25/26 review This season started very brightly with us only 6 points the league leaders at Christmas. However in the new year we absolutely collapsed and went 12 games without a win. This had us hovering a few points above the relegation playoff zone and my job security was insecure for the first time in this save. Luckily we managed to rally for the last few games and snuck into the last playoff space, meeting the boards expectations. We got knocked out in the first playoff round. My tactics for the entirety of the save so far have involved getting the ball up the wing and crossing it to this giant, Manuel Sarao, who is very good at scoring with his head. We so dependent on him for goals that despite our poor season, he was the leagues top goal scorer. Unfortunately though tactics will have to change as he, at the age of 36 is now rapidly declining and none of my striker regens so far have been tall. Youth intake With youth intake and recruitment now maxed out I got a very nice intake. Tonon in particular being a striker/winger with a nice bit of pace Of the previous regens these 2 have developed very well and will be key squad members next season. Dragoni got lots of first team appearances with us this season. Astrom was not as good as our starting keeper at the start of the season so I loaned him out to a Swedish club where he came on leaps and bounds so he's definitely next season's number 1 Transfers
  2. Calcio Catania 24/25 Season review Progress was made this season finishing 6th, getting knocked out of the playoffs in the second round. Our 35 y/o target man Sarao was on great form again this year scoring 37 in the league and winning the top scorer. Despite this you can see we still ended with a -1 Goal difference, so hopefully my defender and GK regens develop well. Intake I managed to get the board to increase junior coaching twice and yth recruitment once, since last years intake. It absolutely paid off as we got a brilliant intake with the best being Domenichelli, a striker/winger who has a 3 star C/A rating! He went straight to the senior team where I gave him lots of games of the bench for the rest of the season. Transfers
  3. Calcio Catania Frustrated after my failure or a save in Spain with Salamanca, I decided to try a different country. Italy regularly has big clubs that go bust and are re-founded in the lower divisions, and having done so in recent years, Catania and Livorno are eligible for this challenge. Catania was better than Livorno in every metric. Bigger stadium, better facilities, better finances, better players. So the choice was an easy one. 23/24 Season review Starting with a few million in the bank was great as I was able to soon convince the board to improve the already excellent training facilities as well as the Junior coaching and Yth recruitment. The 2024 intake was good, with these 3 being the best. We finished the season a respectable 7th position in the league, getting knocked out of the playoffs in the 2nd round. Our 34 year old target man scoring a lot of goals with his head Transfers
  4. Salamanca UDS Unfortunately its the end of the road for this save as the board relived me of my duties mid season. Even though we looked certain for relegation I was sure that I would be safe given that I had exceeded expectations in the previous seasons. Its especially annoying as my first batch of regens had started developing into decent players.
  5. Salamanca UDS 24/25 Season review Very lucky that this league sorts teams with the same points based on results and not goal difference as otherwise we would have been relegated. We started the season brightly but as time went on the lack of quality outside the senior players took its toll with suspensions and injuries and we slid down the table. Youth intake This intake was much better than last years Transfers Squad Our captain and player of the year Benito has retired at the end of this season, and our goalkeeper Benitez has left the club after his contract expired and I wouldn't give in to his wage demands. The positive is that their leaving has freed up 10k p/w in finances. But I don't have decent replacements for them, so I expect we will get relegated next season.
  6. Salamanca UDS 23/24 Season review I was hoping to get promotion in the first season as I would have to leave some of my better paid starting players go at the end of season. Many of them were on big money and wanted even more to renew. Thankfully I managed to sneak up by getting the last playoff space on the final game of the season, and went on to get promoted. Youth intake A decent intake in terms of potential although I was hoping for better current ability as I will be forced to use them next season in the 1st team These two being the cream of the crop: Transfers
  7. Salamaca UDS Segunda Federación Grupo V - Spain Manager Profile Late to the party, hope I get the challenge finished before FM 24. Salamanca have a large stadium for this level of 17,341 so hopefully we can get high attendances to help the finances.
