  1. Tried the beta patch, feels like it may have improved a little but still takes a markedly longer time compared to 17.2.x. During the pre-season before it would skip 2-3 days at a time, now it gets stuck on single days. It seems like it be showing more results while processing than before. Could it be detail related bug maybe?
  2. I think one thing people always fail to realize is that the AI is the most important thing to consider when developing a simulation game, even more so in Football Manager. The tactics, formations, roles, etc have to be designed in a way where the AI can use them effectively to be competitive against the player. The more obtuse the game gets the worse the AI will become. That is how managers like Pep or Conte sometimes fail miserably in FM, because their perfered formation + players available just don't work, especially Conte in FM17, Pep in FM16. If you were to make it even harder for the AI to understand; the game as a real life simulation would fall apart even more.
  3. The Sochaux save was the previous patch when everything was fine. The OL one was from last night when I noticed the change in processing speed.

  5. For them saves in particular I couldn't remember to be honest, normally the initial save is the first thing I do. I don't normally edit before that. If anything it would be something trivial like stadium expansion capacity or manager wage.
  6. Small DB, international players, contential reputation players and national reputations players for every continent.
  7. The processing is what is slow, everything else is fine. The inbox and the match engine are exactly the same as before. Prior to yesterday when I would click continue in the pre-season it would skip multiple days at a time, on the new patch with the exact same setup (Minimum detail, ligue 1 only, 35k players.) to prior it would take multiple continues on each day (Not even a game day.) as if the game was on full detail during a busy period. That was a stark difference to the previous patch/database. This was tried on both a fresh install with default skin and settings and my personal one, same difference. The computer performance, estimated game speed, detail level, player count, etc are all the same as when I played the previous patch. I have two save here. They have editor data but are virtually indentical.   8. The new update has caused the game to slow down considerably. This isn't save specific. I have tested on three different pcs with fresh and old installations of the game. I have been playing the same setup for the last few months with multiple fresh saves, with only Ligue 1 loaded with about 35k~ players and every time I could get to the first league game on minimum detail within 30mins. Last night with the new update it took over an hour. Eventhough I was playing minimum detail it feels like everything is on full detail, the pre-season takes an eternity. I have tested this throughly and it has nothing to do with my end. It was only noticable because the speed it monumentally different.

  11. Enjoying this team, tried to emulate their real world tactics, seems to be working quite well.
