This is as I said, I've never said it's scripted, I don't even understand what that means. It's interesting that in the two replies I see today in one it says the AI looks for weakness all the time as the game is played and the other says it does not tweak stuff to get a result. The point is both are true all actions are based on values. But no software is perfect so we shouldn't assume just because the values show a weakness it really is a weakness when played out.

I think what XAW meant was the game doesn't pre kick off decide the score will be 2-2 and then only make tweaks to counter any changes the human manager makes to keep the final score as previously decided. The AI manager will make changes to try and impact the final result in their favour the same as the human manager does, each change by either is then recalculated by the game and a new final score and 'story' (if you like) is determined.

I don't think you understand how computer coding works. But I'm not here to teach Computer Science so I apologize, what I mean by the story is how the game plays out. IE you go 2 goals up then draw the game. I'm not changing anything during the time of the score being 2-0 to 2-2 so yes the drew is predetermined based on my choice pre-game, but I don't know why. Could be stamina but that doesn't show on the player at the time. Could it be just the keeper's stamina or concentration? I don't know but the times this is happening in FM24 - I've managed about 12 clubs now - It's annoying and I can't seem to resolve it by the players or tactics.

You might not be changing anything, but remember you're playing against another manager and team who actively are. They see a weakness in your team and/or tactics, change things up, score 2 goals. IRL or in the computer world just plugging one set of instructions in and expecting them to work for 90 minutes flawlessly is a recipe for failure.

PA of 150, he had the same PA  in the other save but only 2.5 stars, this time he has a full 4 star potential,  how can there be such a discrepancy. This is one of numerous issues with the games over the past 4-5 years.

People seem to miss this time and time again, scouts and coaches in-game can make mistakes, over or under rating players and their potential. Star ratings are a guide based on the staff's assessments, by design they wont always be accurate. It's not an issue, it's what happens in real life no matter how good the scout or coach is.

Ignacio Ramírez currently on £825 per week at Liverpool FC (Uruguay). Nearing end of contract and can be signed on a free transfer. Agent claims he'd like to play for us as an important member of the team, and is looking between £11.75k and £14.75k per week, which is an insane leap from what he's currently on. Just to check anyway, he begins negotiations at £16.75k.

    Really, really sick of this.

Not sure which club you're playing as but it's not entirely unrealistic. You aren't paying a transfer fee, the player and agent want a big slice of the fee you've 'saved' relative to the players worth. You could gamble on approaching them once they are out of contract and you'll get reduced demands from them but other teams might jump in as well.

The worrying thing to take away from this is that it's not about identifying bugs, it's that SI know about them before release and still knowingly release products in the state that they do.

If this is the case, which the mod has all but explicitly stated, then surely it would be fair for SI to announce the known bugs at release in the same way that SI loudly touts each version's "new features"...

Game release is scheduled for 6th Nov, how does the 'community' react to SI announcing they are pushing the release date back indefinitely to give them time to fix the bug found on 5th Nov?

Is scouting too easy? Too many grade A players in my inbox and reasonably priced. Are my scouts really that good?

Your scouts are grading them compared to the players you already have rather than on a global scale, and they may make mistakes (ie telling you someone has the potential to be the next Messi but in fact turns out to be more Josh McEachran!), especially if the scout's attributes are low. So if you're playing as a smaller club the players they find may improve your squad, but may not be any good once you get promoted etc.

Seriously, that statement from Miles made no mention of fixing the Argentinian league, it has made me very worried. Do SI not realise how urgent a fix for this is? The league is unplayable. Can someone at SI please confirm that this is being addressed urgently?

By your own admission everything is working, incl cup qualification, you just dont get a cut screen showing you lift a pretend trophy or an increased number on a screen. This isn't 'unplayable', you just have to use your imagination and memory a little bit until it's fixed. Your post in the bug tracker has been acknowledged so it'll be on the list of things SI are working on.

I don't recall any other complaints on the matter being made by other players, and if the Argentinian league isn't a particularly popular one used by players than naturally it'll be a lower priority fix than other issues.

I feel like that intermediary screen should be available every time you try to sell a player via intermediary. You should be able to select which intermediary you want to use based on their fee/expected price, then if they can't drum up the interest they should come back to you saying so, and saying there is no fee as they haven't been able to drum up any interest. You shouldn't know if there is interest before you have selected an intermediary to actually go out and establish if there is interest.

This wouldn't happen in real life, they'd have to ring/email around to find out if there is or isn't interest in the player and they'll want paying for their time regardless of whether they've been successful in drumming up interest.

    Hello.

I have a problem (may be not?) with selling via intermediaries.

I started the game and wanted to sell a player. First i used the option to talk to the agent, he said there are no interested sides. Then I decided to try an intermediary, who told me that there are no interested clubs also. But I`m curious isn`t it supposed to be a job of intermediary to find interested club for a fee?

The screen bellow is from https://www.footballmanager.com/features/introducing-intermediaries-and-offloading-players

I have never received the offers in the way pictured by the screen.

Is it a bug or am I doing smth not right?

The use of intermediaries gives you a better chance of offloading a player, but it's not guaranteed. So it's working as expected, as in real life sometimes nobody is interested in taking your cast offs, hence why there are hundreds of free agents available at any given time.

I started a new save and looked at player attributes for a bit, feel like you should have been able to work that out for yourself. Some people on this forum get weirdly defensive of SI when they get even the most minor criticism

3.7million data changes were made for this update (source; SI email to researchers). Of course this includes things other than attributes but all players will have been reviewed.

Random question but didnt want to open a new topic for it. At what point are irl injuries incorporated in the game?

Like for a Milan example, Zlatan is offcours out since summer untill next year, so that will be in, but for example Calabria got injured last week and will be out for the rest of this calendar year. will that make it into the game? Or is it all start date dependant?

From memory injuries sustained before Aug 10th 2022 will be included in game at the start of a save.

Hey guys! I noticed something weird with the newgens in my 2031 save, sort of a pattern - Jumping Reach being "capped" unreasonably low.

In my save there's quite a few world class newgens by now, but many of them have awful Jumping Reach that never improves - we're talking 6, 8 et cetera. Some of them are even kinda tall! My world-class attacker with amazing physical attributes is 5'8 and is now 26 years old, having 6 Jumping Reach. I just bought him, so he was likely never trained on that attribute, but it's still weird given that every single one of his other physical attributes is 16 or more.

I now spent 40M on a very promising 18-year-old centerback on the premise that he's 6'2. he's gotten from 14 to 15 Jumping Reach, but after a couple of months my assistant now believes he's never gonna get any better than that and the player himself is complaining about the uselessness of his individual training. Heck, I've had a guy capped at 11, and he was 186 cm tall (a little shy of 6'2). I've been training that guy for a year and a half (max facilities, world class coaching staff) and he indeed never improved.

Is Jumping Reach just a lottery? And if so, what's the use of heigth if it doesn't give at least a minor indication of how high people will be able to jump when they'll peak?

    A 6'2 player should (by the guidelines we follow on the research side) not be rated higher than 16 for jumping reach. Each inch in height from 5.03 to 6.07 has 5 possible numbers allocated to it, representing poor, below average, average, above average, good. So to take a couple of examples;

5.03 - poor is 1, below average is 2, average is 3, above average is 4, good is 5.

    6.00 - poor is 9, ba 10, ave 11, aa 12, good 13

    6.06 - poor is 16, ba 17, ave 18, aa 19, good 20

By the guidelines no player below 6.06 should be capable of getting 20 jumping reach. So any instances of it, by my understanding, would count as a bug.

(full table in the spoiler, I dont believe this breaks any confidences but happy for the mods to edit if they feel the need)
