Jack Holmes birthday on transfermarkt is wrong, when he played for Hereford I checked his birth date and it's 19/09/2001 which his current club Halesowen have confirmed online.

Are you sure that's the FM24 release database you are using as Holmes left Hereford before the end of last season?

Ente35 has been told a dozen times or more that Transfermarkt isn't a reliable source, including by the EFL HR less than 24 hours before they posted this one, I suspect it's a losing battle to get them to listen

    Thanks for the reply.

So just to confirm, the next major update is the release of the next game or major updates are planned mid season?

There will be a major data update once all currently open transfer windows are closed, usually released in March. We researchers are already working on it :)

You then have the option to start new saves with the original database, the post-transfer window database or the real world database (transfers happen on the dates they went through in real life).

Thats nearly 3/4 of a season... Oreilly is poty so far in Scotland and Scales has blossomed into a mainstay. Should be refelected in game esp after good feedback about it has been given.

Well its approx 3/4 of the season but only 1/2 of the game cycle (new game usually drops in Nov). It's been that way for many years and I suspect many years to come. I can't see us moving to FIFA style weekly or monthly updates, never say never though!

As Stuart says there are always the editors available if you want to manually update individuals or the entire Scottish database.

Waited nearly a month for the major update to start a proper save and O'Riley and Scales CA's have not been touched?  Great.,,

O'Riley still has a lower CA than Ideguchi.

Scales still default transfer listed because his CA is so low.

Palma nowhere near Forrest or Haksabanovic in terms CA or PA.

Yang's CA miles behind Mikey Johnston.

It's major data amendments only on the latest update, those examples are likely to be reviewed for the major winter data update released sometime in Feb-March.

  5. The stadium environment field (only head researchers have the ability to amend this I believe) is described as -

the standard of environments where press conferences/interviews/team talks might take place.

Premier League guidelines set a pretty high bar for these afaik, I imagine with an allowance for teams with older, smaller stadia like Luton to bring theirs in to line within a few years.

Disappointed that this information couldn't be included in the release of the game as I believe this was submitted and sourced before the data lock.

Especially with Kieran Dyer not being on the coaching staff despite having just recovered from cancer and being on the staff the entire time and since March last year

Also something to include for the next data change:

Liam Mandeville contract until 2026: https://chesterfield-fc.co.uk/news/mandeville-signs-contract-extension

Unfortunately datalock was on the 18th Oct, a day before your original post. I'm sure it will be looked at ahead of the next data update. I've requested Dyer is moved to Chesterfield on the internal database system.

There is currently a vacancy for a researcher for Chesterfield if you are a supporter of the club, please see this link if you'd be interested in joining the research team.

If you don't care my responses, why bothering yourself for contributing to the matter and why bothering me replying that nonsense?

I'm not sure they will similarly got marked NFE. If it would be a large scaled cleansing, I have zero issues about that even thou I had countless amount of jobs in that period which I don't feel a need to share here to get back what I already got before.

I got removed because of too much personal interest from this research team chief's personal dramas. Plus I got added 3 years later after that job and asked to the chief that should I include or not and he replied "Of course you should be in". I can prove everything I say.

I didn't said I don't want to be friends with SI, I don't count that amateur & over-emotional national research team's as official SI members.

I am focusing on what you are saying, you don't care what I am explaining, I hope you will stop and won't bother me replying you further. Make no sense. You are tripping around the topic, not focusing on it's core.

Not agreeing with you is not the same as 'not caring', please do not put words in to my mouth or make wild assumptions, it only does your argument harm.

Please provide the list of names in the database, especially those who have been in it a long time with no real life jobs in football as per your claim, and I'm sure it can be looked at.

3 years after leaving that job and actively looking for a role in football is imho only just about database adding worthy, 7 years on and still not working in the sector means there is no reason for you to be in the game, from a strict realism point of view. If you get a job you'll be reinstated.

  8. Hi, I'm the Brentford researcher so I can access the database.

Arda Güler - since his move to Real Madrid only his contract and reputation fields have been amended by the Spanish team, his attributes were reviewed by the Turkish team prior to the transfer. This is entirely the correct procedure, and how I've operated for 10 years of being on the research team.

Tonali - I'm not sure his ban will be in the release in 8 days time, although don't quote me on that!

Other than that you haven't actually contributed by mentioning any of the changes you 'demand', let alone provide evidence of the alleged errors so I expect this thread will be closed like the others have been.

  9. So if you haven't had a job in football in circa 7 years and don't want to be 'friends' with SI does it really matter that you are no longer in the game? You are still in the database, marked Not For Extraction like countless other staff members who haven't had a role for years. If you get a job back in football I'm sure you'll be resurrected in game. If you also have names of people showing in game who haven't worked in football for a similar time or longer I'm sure they can be similarly marked NFE.

    Staff

I'm managing Manchester UFC and I've noticed a few different things with staff members that I think need to be looked at.

    • Justin Cochrane (Coach - Brentford)

I tried to hire him as a Coach but he says "I'm not prepared to work for Man UFC due to the club's rivalry with Arsenal". This doesn't make sense as he was an Under 18s Coach at Tottenham from 2013-2017, then an Under 23s Assistant Manager at Tottenham from 2017-2018, then an Under 23s Coach at Man UFC from 2021-2022.

    • Ryan Garry (Coach - Unemployed)

I tried to hire him as an Under 21s or Under 18s staff member, but he only wants to be a Coach. This doesn't make sense as he's currently the England Under 18s Manager in real life, so he should be willing to take on either Under 21s or Under 18s staff member roles in game.

    • Paul Mitchell (Director of Football - Unemployed)

I tried to hire him as a Director of Football but he says "I'm not interested in joining Man UFC as there isn't a job that interests me". This doesn't make sense as I've managed to hire him at other English Premier Division clubs with lower reputation. Also, he is constantly linked to Man UFC in real life and is strongly linked as i'm writing this.

Probably worth raising in the following forum

    https://community.sigames.com/bugtracker/football-manager-2024-early-access-bugs-tracker/club-vision-supporter-confidence-manager-staff-appointments/

There's nothing set in the data to stop them being interested in joining MUFC to my knowledge.

This was just a suggestion, as Mbuemo had a pretty good last season in attacking stats, what is little bit ignored. Ok, he have planty of place to improve beacuese of his PA, but just that finishing is little bit underrated for him.

It's not going to be changed before release no matter how many threads it's posted in, but will be reviewed ahead of the winter update.

  12. BM missed a host of chances last season, some easy ones as well, he's improved this season and will be reviewed for the winter update accordingly. He does have plenty of CA-PA space to allow growth as the game progresses,.

Increasing Toney's finishing would also have a large CA impact, so we'd need to lower other attributes accordingly. I'd suggest the others may be over rated and need decreasing, personally. There's too much focus in the FM community on raising players attributes just because someone else has a high rating. His penalty taking is rated at 19 already, and a lot of his success is down to outsmarting the GK rather than pinpointing them in to the top corner. He will of course be reviewed for the winter update when he's back playing.

Hm, didn't know that was how it worked. Feels pretty flawed... Why have it random between 1-20? Understand Determination is harder to scout on a teenager than Passing, but surely it would be more appropriate with a guesstimate of 10 than to have a bad number like 3.

I'm never gonna get a great player out of him on my save if he has Determination 3. If he made it this far in his career IRL he probably has a higher Determination and 3?

If we put 10 in on every unknown attribute for every kid on the game we'd have a very boring and repetitive game with hundreds of players all being extremely similar, hence why we leave it to chance. You'll have youth team players that have benefited with high attributes generated on start up as much as this one player is at a disadvantage. There is always the in-game editor when the full release happens in a few days, or create a new save.

There are plenty of examples of players who get to the top level without really putting in the hard yards, so this is a bit of a non-argument.

I think Tottenham are too underpowered compared to how well they're doing in real life.

I've run 5 simulations and 4 times they finished outside of the top 10.

SI will have run thousands, and if they are unhappy with the overall trend they will amend the data accordingly. IRL Spurs form could drop off the edge of a cliff this weekend for all we know of the future (although I don't suppose it will!).

  15. 3 hours ago, Stevmon said:

Is that normal for young players? Will it be changed for full release or will it be a random low number each save?

Yes, quite normal where we researchers haven't seen a lot of a certain player.

No it won't be a 'low number' each save, sometimes it'll be a much higher figure. It's entirely the same chance of generating as 3, 8, 14 or 20, and all others in between!

Hmm, wondering if some of the outstanding transfer fees owed by Wolves to Burnley, and by Burnley to Stoke, are being considered in the fee somehow!

Definitely looks that way having seen DCastle's post above, £17m + the £36m in the 3 database clauses = £53m. Working fine in 'original' mode though.

If the source researchers use for information purposes is goal.com and worldsoccer.com then they shouldn't be researchers at all.

Especially when both websites provide no sources on their claims. What's even more a sign of incompetence is that this error persists for several years

For example from the very same goal.com article:  "

A loyal Red Devils fan 😈

As a teenager at Sporting Lisbon, like many other Portuguese kids, Fernandes witnessed fellow compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo succeed at Old Trafford under the leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson."

Bruno arrived at Sporting as a 23 year old.

"There is some connection between Fernandes and the number eight. The deceased father of Bruno once wore the jersey while he was a player, and Fernandes even alludes to the number eight as his "lucky number." "

Bruno's Dad is alive and well 😂

I haven't said the researcher/s used those sources, I said a quick search throws them up. I'm sure this game breaking error will be amended in due course ;)
