  1. Here is the 1st version of my Korean 2024 database. This includes the top 2 tiers that are playable already, with the addition of the K3 and K4, the 3rd and 4th tier. I have also added the 3 amateur tiers of the K5, K6 and the K7. The top 4 tiers are accurate as of today. The K5, K6 and K7 information tends to be harder to find until the summer, so this is the 2023 structure.

The K3 and K4 were created in 2020 after combining the old 3rd tier Korean National League, the 4th tier K3 Advanced and the 5th tier K3 Basic. In that time, these leagues are yet to fully settle, with handfuls of new teams joining and some dissolving entirely.  The K4 also includes 3 K League B teams.

I have also created badges, but they are too large of a file to upload here so they are downloadable from my Drive - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1lV8Vtf6c4TcttrhUKWSdHXq7diIaHUl9/view?usp=sharing

    • All teams in the top 4 divisions updated for 2024 season. K5, K6 and K7 are still set in the 2023 season (lack of data until later in the year)
    • Season start date set to January 2024
    • K3 and K4 added with correct teams and promotion system between them
    • Some stadium names tweaked, a few added, stadium seat colours changed for a handful of places
    • Created 500+ players to fill the K3 and K4 squads (Thanks to the data at Transfermarkt)
    • Yangju removed from the K4 2024 season. They will reappear in the 2025 season
    • Removed Gangwon B and Busan B from K4. They will play in the reserve leagues again
    • Reserve Leagues Tweaked to stop Daejeon, Jeonbuk amd Daegu from entering another reserve team into the league (was a bug with B teams)
    • Seoul E-Land set at Mokdong Stadium and will move back to their normal stadium in 2025
    • FA Cup has been fixed to make sure it takes the correct amount of teams from K4 and K5
    • FA Cup renamed to Korea Cup
    • Added dozens of new cities and counties to add more accuracy to team and stadium locations
    • Some team names in KL1 and KL2 were tweaked (Ulsan HD renamed)
    • All badges in the logo pack are correct as of 24th February 2024. All logos from KL1 down to K4 are present. Some K5 teams have badges too.
    • Many more tweaks and changes
    • Transfers updated to 22nd February 2024
    • Added new U21 rules to the K3 and K4 leagues
    • Added all 32 K6 leagues and all 190 K7 leagues, correct for the 2023 season and made them playable
    • Promotion from K3 will activate in the 2025 season. Promotion from the K5 will activate in 2025 season
    • Added full K3 and K4 history
    • Added in historic league history to teams for the K3 and the old National League
    • Fixed K3 and K4 kit colours
    • Tweaked all attendances and season tickets to try and make them closer to real life
    • Tweaked some stadiums and other little things
    • Added more Korean media sources, including the entire writing team over at @KLeagueUnited

Thanks. Crashing things are always good to log. Can't say for fix times, I am not a dev :)

Just thought I would throw an update. After filing a bug, going through 2 weeks of nothing and then being pushed towards Sega support. They made me run the dxdiag twice, update my drivers and then do nothing apart from requesting my save eventually to be sent to the devs, which the bug reports initially was supposed to do.

I have finally pinpointed the issue. And I found the fix accidentally whilst trying to fix a training bug. I had 2 season periods set in my nation rules. I don't know why this caused an issue after the update to FM23, but it seemed to. I have attached 2 images to show what was causing the issue, to what I changed it to to fix it.

    Before:

    After:

It seemed that giving 'level 0' 2 season periods caused the issue. The finance bug has now disappeared.

Fair enough. I just tested by making every Korean team the same in the finances tab, same balance, same season ticket holders, ticket prices etc. But still crashes. Odd bug, hopefully SI can fix it.

Me and Daveincid had the same problem with the finances of Iraqi clubs in FM22 (don't know if in FM23 too). So this is more a bug from the game. Everything else worked fine.

Did you ever find a workaround? I tried to check the crash dump and it mentioned an error to do with 'length22', which made me think it was a short name error with an added club/league etc. But I fixed the short names and it still crashed. The error might have had little to do with the error in the crash dump anyway.

In that case, I suggest logging a bug and keeping away from the screen as much as possible.

I have logged it as a bug, but I don't know if that will ever be resolved if it was present in FM22.

  5. I am having an odd issue that seems to have appeared after the last FM update last week.

Using my Korean database, if I click on either the the 'Projections' tab in Finances, or the 'Wages' tab in finances, I get an immediate crash to desktop.

I will attach my working file so others can see the issue. Simply load my file, load South Korea down to K4 League and then selected any K League 2 team to start with. Then go to the projections tab in Finances. My game, and another 2 people's games, crash immediately.

I have tested removing every league apart from K League and K League 2 and this happens to all K League 2 teams. Does anybody have any idea what changed in the update last week that could cause this?

In the future, maybe. But it isn't the highest priority at the moment.

No Champions League? In 2023? It is fine for me. It doesn't start until the Summer, new schedule from 2023 onwards

If you duplicate an award, you have to change both the "long name" and "short name". Most of the time, if you're duplicating an award like Best XI, you'll change the long name from "K-League Player of the Year" to "K4 League Player of the Year" (or whatever it may be), but you don't bother changing the short name, which already says "Player of the Year".

The game reads that as blank for some reason though, you need to register a "change" (on the bottom left of the award you can see all the database changes). Even just changing a letter in the short name, and then changing it back, will register as a change and the name should show up in-game.

Thank you! That was the issue. Good to know for the future, another fun little 'quirk' to the editor.

  8. I have created the Best of the 11 awards for 3 leagues that don't have them by default. I did this by duplicating the K League 1 (Korean Top Division) and then changing the league they run with. The K League 1 original award has no issues.

The awards themselves are working in one way, as in they are actually showing the top 11 every week. But the announcement news is broken and isn't showing the title in the news feed. It is just blank saying 'players named in...' or simply says 'Announced'. I will add images to show what the news item in-game says. The final image also shows the in-editor name for the award, so I have set a name there.

Does anybody know what's wrong? I duplicated the awards as it was recommended to make sure the awards work on the correct schedule, and all the other duplicated awards work. Just not the Best of 11 one.

  9. The file is now updated. It now includes a fully playable 7 tier system from K League 1, down the K7 League, as close to real life as possible. There are 190 leagues in K7 and 32 in K6, so the file can run a little slow.

    JANUARY UPDATE

    • Transfers updated to 20th January 2023
    • Added new U21 rules to the K3 and K4 leagues
    • Added all 32 K6 leagues and all 190 K7 leagues, correct for the 2022 season and made them playable
    • Promotion from K3 will activate in the 2024 season. Promotion from the K5 will activate in 2025 season
    • Added full K3 and K4 history
    • Added in historic league history to teams for the K3 and the old National League
    • Fixed K3 and K4 kit colours
    • Added Busan B to the K4
    • Tweaked all attendances and season tickets to try and make them closer to real life
    • Tweaked some stadiums and other little things
    • Added more Korean media sources, including the entire writing team over at @KLeagueUnited

What's the latest update on the playability of K5 through K7?

Working fully as of my last test. Full K7 to K5 promotion (apart from Jeju as they don't have a K5 league), with K5 promotion starting in the 2025 season. First update will be out in a week or 2 once I have caught up on all the transfers so far.

  11. I am having a visual error in my rules. My 13 K5 (5th tier) leagues have a large cup final at the end of the season, the winner of which gets promoted to the K4 league. The system in game works without issue, this isn't an issue with the system breaking. This is simply a visual bug that could confuse the users of the database. I will include my latest test save file and the editor file, hopefully someone can point out why it shows as comp#1 and not K4 League.

I have attached my editor file and also my latest save so you can load straight into the game and check the K5 League rules. - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sRrdDkuOaSNBeKIFkuHcb6be8HiPpmbH/view?usp=share_link

There are two issues. Firstly, you didn't set the competition that the K4 League playoff winner should qualify for, set the K3 League there and they should be picked up by the K4 League. Like this:

The K3 League final loser does have the K2 League set as their competition, so that one should it work. It was just missing from the K4 League.

Also, your team instruction for the K3 relegation playoff here:

Should have Number Of Promoted Teams To Skip set to 2, not 1. Since 2 are automatically promoted you'll need to skip 2 to get the playoff team. If you're only skipping 1 then you're taking a team that should automatically be promoted and putting them in the relegation playoff instead. Then regardless of who wins you'd end up 1 team short. That will need changing in both the 2023 and 2024 versions of the K3 League.

Thank you so much! That was such a simple fix and it is annoying that I couldn't spot it. Genuinely spent 4 days rebuilding this from scratch to try and fix this, even asked for help from someone who just called my file a mess. Which it is, but still not all that helpful.

The first error is something that worked pre-patch. So I didn't realise it needed that.

  13. I have been having an issue with a file that refused to take the teams it needs for a promotion playoff at the end of a season. This file worked without issue before the update a couple of weeks ago and hasn't worked since.

The issue is in the K3 League - the 3rd tier. When testing the rules in the editor, it gives the following error at the end of the 2023 season

    Screenshot_2083.png.213abeedb91f2f746d8c91df3ecfa9ac.png

I did a bit of poking around to test what was causing it and it seems like it isn't finishing a promotion playoff from the K4 League, the 4th tier, so it isn't adding the promoted team in from the lower league. Stage 1 from the K4 sets a team to qualify for a promotion/relegation stage in the K3, stage 2. The Stage 2 of K3 isn't taking any team from the K4 promotion playoff, as I have worked out from testing. Something has changed since the last update but I can't work out why. If anyone can poke around and work it out, I would be grateful.

    MediocreJake's Korea FM23 - KL1 To K4 - v1.12.fmfMediocreJake's Korea FM23 - KL1 To K4 - v1.12.fmf.

As a separate test, I created a file that has a completely new promotion setup to see if the old system was just over-complicated and it is still causing an issue when testing the K4 league in the editor with an error about not setting up stage 1 in the K3 league. I would also appreciate it if anyone can poke around this cleaner setup and point me towards whatever is causing the error.
