Have you reported this in the Bugs forum to have it looked at?- that was the developers can assess and decide if it is a bug or not

I created a post in the correct bugs forum during the beta. I then posted again when it wasnt fixed after release. It appears  someone from SI locked my post last month. If I check my posting history, it says locked and I cant even enter it to view it.

Varying the Pressing Intensity slider still has no effect on the Intensity meter on the tactics screen. Doesn't matter if you have it at the lowest setting or the highest, or any notch in between, it has no effect. Bug was reported during beta. Is this only a UI issue or does it have effects on the match engine as well? Is the setting even recognised by the game?????

The counterpress when ball is lost and counter when possession is won instructions also have no effect on the intensity meter. These seem like big issues.

The progress graph is a scam tbh. When I first heard of it, I thought it would show some sort of progress of the CA of the player. But it turns out it's how your ass man (or other coach, not sure how that works) evaluates the CA with the star rating system. So if you sell a lot of players, the graph will spike (because the standards are lower), and if you hire better players the graph will drop (because the standards are higher), even if the player's attributes are stale or improving.

    Disappointing if this is true.

I'm starting to think this is one of the things that I'm missing, which annoys me because I have absolutely no interest in having to set up training.

Yea definitely. It's a little daunting to get into but a whole lot of fun once you're comfortable with it. I skipped training all of FM19 but in FM20 I wanted to dive a little into it. Start slow, very slow. Let your Assman or another coach handle the training, but add a couple of ES (Extra sessions) weekly. You can do it when the notification pops up in your inbox. No need to overthink it. If you feel your defense is slacking, then add a couple of defence-related sessions to your training. If you feel you have been conceding during corners, then concentrate on that.  Check out the guide that @Seb Wassell posted yesterday for a primer.

Here's my current Hibs tactic on FM Classic at the moment. I'm not all that happy with it at the moment, the team is generally dominating games (other than against the Old Firm), but are struggling to score goals. I put both wide players to IF on attack to see if I could see this 'side netting' issue, but I still don't.

My striker is pretty good at finishing 1v1s, and I've seen a number of lovely through balls from my AP.

There's something missing though, I need to try and create better chances. The good thing about FMC is that there's no tactical familiarity so I can chop and change at will. I like the shape of the team, and they play in a style I like, but I think the tactic might be a bit too aggressive. I'm leaning towards lowering the tempo and having more support duties up front. The squad is also very thin, and I need about 4-5 players to really make it work. I'm really enjoying watching the matches though, engine is top notch for me so far.

This is very close to what I'm running as well. I put emphasis on Chance Creation and Chance Conversion in training weekly and my team has been scoring around 2.5 goals a game.

Genuine question for you and others who see similar issues.  With regards to fullbacks / wingbacks demonstrating this behaviour, what role/duty do you give them; what Team Mentality do you select; what Traits do the players you use in this position have; and (importantly) why do you choose those settings?

The reason I ask is my Wingbacks rarely (if ever) demonstrate this issue, but I tend to give my Wingbacks a Defend duty especially if I use an aggressive mentality and a player with the Trait to get forward whenever possible.  My Wingbacks still attack, they overlap my wide players ahead, they just pick and choose when to do it and are much more effective in defence.  I normally see around 15-20 crosses per match (in total from all my players) and shots at goal from my wingbacks are rare than hens teeth.

If you use a similar set up then that's probably something for the Bugs forum.  But if your set up is more aggressive, why do you feel the need to be more aggressive?  Perhaps that's what the tactical descriptions are leading you to believe you need?  There's a combination of factors at play here and it's that combination which can be very important and not always obvious.

I also have no issues with the Wingbacks shooting into the side netting or at sharp angles. Here is my right back and his PPM's.  I play him as WB-Attack and I play at-most with a positive mentality, only increasing it to attack and very attacking if I'm behind and the match is in the latter stages. I also overlap rightside. I very rarely see him or the left back for that matter shoot. Eli had 5 shots (2 OT) in the first game, 3 shots (3 OT) in the second game, and 3 shots in the 5th game. In the other games he hasn't shot at all.  Here is a screenshot of the game when he had 5 shots.

Do you realise that, especially against packed defenses but also more in general, most goals to some extent come from crossing? :)

It's there if you play it the right way, I've seen balls over the top, through balls from AM to PF, cutbacks, crosses.

I think he wants to show that players do pass and cross when they should and not ALWAYS shoot as so many claim they do.

I think the ME is really good at this state too good job SI!

the point is, he says he is loving the ME, yet he shows all the highlights are goals from crossing.

At least shows some variety eh?

Exactly, @emil_sbn I was simply trying to show that the wingbacks and wingers do cross the ball. Another person was saying that he had issues with wide players shooting into the side of the net (I had problems with this too previously) and it was driving him crazy. I see a nice variety of assist locations from my team and the AI. Would love to see more assists centrally, but they are there.

  9. My last 5 matches, shots from both teams. I have no issues with players shooting from bad angles. There's like maybe 1 or 2 in there but it's realistic. I also have no issues with wingers and wing backs not crossing  the ball. My best assists are coming from the flanks.  I like to play around with creating my own training. I put extra attention on training attacking overlap and attacking Wings, along with making sure all my players have the highest tactical familiarity bars. The match tactics training help with that.

  10. I feel it adds to the realism for me. As a manager, especially at a big club with upwards of 50 staff members, I don't want to deal with the hiring and the renegotiating of contracts for staff. I can simply hire a technical director, a position that exists at the biggest clubs around the world. SI have also added new attributes to go with this role, judging staff abilities and negotiating.

As for loan managers, I'm loving it equally for the same reasons. Playing as Feyenoord, I have a huge squad of players who need to be loaned out annually. The loan manager will take care of that for me and also give me reports. Of course, I can put anyone in charge of those positions, but I feel it adds to the realism for me.

I like the feeling of being in charge and part of a large ship. I love the Chief scout position as well. I have a team of 8 scouts who send their numerous reports to the Chief Scout. The chief scouts then goes through all of them and then weekly sends me only the very best players that catch his eye. I can then further make a decision if I should scout to 100% or disregard.
