Pitch Textures... circle pattern... please help

My home stadium has a horrible circle pattern on the pitch and i want to change it. I've downloaded a texture folder, put it into my FM folder, swapped names of the circles.dds and the checkered.dds, cleared the cache and reloaded skinn but the circle pattern is still there! I managed to do this successfully in FM23 but i can't get it to work on this version. 

 

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this please? It's doing my head in haha

try and untick "use caching to decrease loading time"

clear the cache, reload skin

Tried that and it didn't work

Maybe it's just not working in this years FM.. as i'm not using it i can't check it.
