I didn't see the option last year and don't see it again this year. I don't remember it making much of a difference, but was still a nice feature. There is an inbox message that comes up suggesting a conversation with the said manager in FM17, but I do not know if the said conversation option will show up if you look for the said manager manually and initiate a conversation with him.
