You can be the GM or the GM/Head Coach, and your only financial responsibility connects to player/staff contracts & the team budget and/or salary cap (if applicable).IRL in all but the smallest teams and the smallest leagues, the GM/Head Coach is only responsible for the hockey related product, and has absolutely nothing to do with things like merchandising plans or ticket prices (teams have business/marketing people who handle the financial aspects that you're mentioning). hluraven Posted January 13, 2016 Share Posted January 13, 2016 Your options are limited, but the best ways are to increase attendances (winning helps here) and reducing the salaries you spend on players and staff. In some leagues you can sell players for cash, or include cash in trades, so that's another option. As Nino says, there are no ways at all you can do it via non-hockey GM activities, you have an owner responsible for ticket prices etc Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
