Intro post - first season 2014./15.

Love at first sight - FM13

My first Dresden career was on FM13 where all the passion for this club began. I have been looking for a challenge and started unemployed with European major 5 leagues loaded (England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France). The first team that offered me a contract was Dynamo Dresden who played at German 3rd tier at the time (I think that they came up from a lower division that season actually). I liked the club colours, size of the stadium and the adventure began.

We got to Bundesliga 1 in a record time, first season won Bundesliga 3, then Bundesliga 2 and we came to the elite division with a respectable squad already. I really don't remember all the trophys won in that save, but it was really enough for me to try to manage them again in FM15.

Second shot FM15

This time, I have started as Dresden manager from the start, set my reputation to World Class (I think I have the right to do so, according to my long managerial experience – see this link and all the trophies won – I am the best manager of all time :D) and had a first look at my squad and immediately started to look for good free players to vastly improve my squad.

Since I have played the first three seasons before I started this blog and I am really attached to this save and don't want to start a new career at the moment, I will describe the first three seasons in a one-post style. The fourth season will be reported on a in-game-monthly basis.

Season 2 - 2015./16.

After promotion last season, this year my personal expectations were just the same as last. I want the promotion to Bundesliga 1 and to do so, we have to finish at least second to be secure or third for the playoff against 16th from Bundesliga 1.

Of course, wishes and desires are one thing and reality is something totally different. I really didn't know what can I expect until the season started. So let me show you what happened (:

Finally Bundesliga! - season 2016./17.

Last season, we finally reached my primary goal - Bundesliga 1.

Can we survive or perhaps become a surprise and overachieve??

The Bundesliga 1 has some really good teams such as Bayern Munchen, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04, Wolfsburg, Leverkusen and is very equal so it should be an interesting season.

The new year 2018. has started. It means that we have done our scouting and made some transfers for the summer, but also some players have already signed for Dresden.

Since we have played only one competitive match during January (winter break), I have made the report for January and February together.

During this period we needed to win as much domestically in order to keep up with Dortmund and Bayern as long as we can. The Champions League draw was pretty harsh to us, I think we have done well already so whatever happens I am pleased, I just want not to be embarresed by Real Madrid.

A fairly mixed month is behind us. Couple of wins, couple of losses, everything goes like planned as the season nears its end. Played 4 Bundesliga matches and the second leg CL kncockout phase vs Real Madrid away.

Dresden career - April and May 2018.

We have finished all our fixtures for the season 2017./18., in the last two months we had only Bundesliga matches and had one major result and one really bad result.

Dresden career - season summary 2017./18.

After finishing 4th in our first Bundesliga 1 season, this season we had to prove that this result was not a surprise. In fact, the goal was improvement in all fields. We had to further improve our squad if we wanted to put some pressure on the best teams in the league.

Champions league experience was not so important this season, but it was interesting to see how we coped with the best teams in the continent.

PLAN & EXPECTATIONS

The board wanted us to qualify for the UEFA Europa league through our participation in the Bundesliga.

Cup was not important and they wanted us to enjoy the Champions league experience.

TRANSFERS

We had to improve the defence but I always try to improve the whole team as much as I can so we had total of 23 players IN and 33 players OUT

We had signed a lot of good players this season, I have continued the tradition of long term loans so my team now has 10 loaned players who play for the first team. In fact, during the season we played some matches with 8 or 9 loanees in the first eleven :)

I don't like that fact, but it is very logical. If you think for a while, I havent payed almost anything and I have some of the top players playing for my team season after season. Some of them will probably even be loaned at Dresden when their contract at their club expires and I could sign them for free later. Really not that bad, isn't it?

RESULTS

We have finished the season on 3rd place in Bundesliga, Dortmund was unstoppable, but we winished with same points like second Bayern. Very good result.

SQUAD

This season, my best 11 were:

gk: Petr Cech

dr: Kurt Zouma

dl: Luke Shaw

dc: Toby Alderweireld

dc: Eliaquim Mangala

dmc: Nemanja Matic

mc: Mario Suarez

amc: Gael Kakuta

amc: Alen Halilovic

amc: Lucas Moura

sc: Harry Kane

Dresden career - half season report 2018./19.

This season, I have changed my writing habits to two posts per season. This will perhaps be more frequent if I have something important to show or announce. The main reason is that I have spent more time blogging than playing, which really ruined my playing experience and demotivated me from playing.

Anyway, I had a really great first half of the season, let me show you what happended :)

PLAN & EXPECTATIONS

the board wants a title challenge.

TRANSFERS

We have brought a total of 26 players. Sold 32 players and earned a lot during the process...

RESULTS

Bundesliga - 1st place after half-season, still a lot to go but very good for now!

Champions League - finished 2nd in group stage, drawn agains Roma in 1st knockout. Very good draw in my opinion with a good chance of going through to 2nd knockout!

This season the team is even better :)

Almost everyone (the better players) is on loan...

At the end of the season, a lot of my loanees are singing on free for my team.

Yes, I think it could be considered as an exploit, but I dont mind :D

In some occaisions, I have fielded all 11 players on loan, it was pretty ridiculous for mee too haha

Anyway, thank you for following my career!

Season 7 - 2020./21. - Half season report

Started the season with the main goal to defend the Bundesliga title but also to try and win the German Cup - the only competition not already won in my Dresden career.

So far so good, going steady in the league - level with Dortmund at the 1st position.

Reached the quarter-final in the Cup.

Passed easily through the Champions League group stage.

Made some excellent transfers (18 in - 40 mil. pounds; 32 out - 182 mil. pounds).

Season 8 summary - 2021./22.

Another fantastic season is behind us. Won everything except the Champions League, where we were stopped by Real Madrid in a weird semi-final. We were at least equal if not even better but they have advanced to the final where they eventually lost to Liverpool. Regarding our previous experience with the Reds, I am confident that we would win the CL if we only made it to the final.

Nevertheless, I am pleased by the season and my team which now proves to be one of the best in the world at the moment!

FM15 Dresden career summary

Dear friends,

Since FM16 officially came out on Friday 13.11.2015., the time has come to call it a day for the FM15 Dresden career. I have had almost no game time since october, so I have decided to wait for FM16 to continue my career. I have got FM16 since day 1, but am still trying my first save with Chelsea just to check what's new and to get a proper feeling of the beautiful game. The next career will be the lowest English division.

You can see my achievements with Dresden on my blog READ THE FULL SUMMARY HERE

Thank you for following!

P.S. I would like to invite you to comment more often here or on the blog with your suggestions and critics. Also, feel free to suggest yourself for cooperation on the blog/website. I would really need some friends to step up and help me make the place a lot better and more alive.
