Foreign affiliate to improve reputation

I've been trying to ask my board to affiliate a foreign club to improve the rating in the foreign country at every possible opportunity, even picked a few clubs myself for him to make a deal with. But the Director never find a club to make a deal with. I'm in season 20/21 now and need every bit of extra income I can get to hold onto players without loosing money due to wage expenses.

I have been in champions league final 3 times, won it once, won the world club cup once and won premier league two times after each other.

So I'm wondering if anyone been able to make this sort of affiliation?

And if so, you done it a few years into the game?

My team are in top 5 atm when it comes to reputation, its world wide.

Choose the option to allow you to pick the club, then look for a team that doesn't already have a parent club, that doesn't have a higher reputation than you (usually at least one star less) and doesn't play in the same division as you.

I have done that many times :/

Last time i got to try it I had 4 and a half star. The chinese and US clubs I have tried to get a affiliation with had 3 and 2 and a half star and without any other affiliations.

This time I tried to affiliate Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the MLS without any luck.

They were team with the lowest reputation in MLS with two and a half star, my team have 4 stars atm.

I now tried again, and this time I picked Houston Dynamo, that didn't work out and the Chairman didn't find any other suitable clubs either :/

Just to make sure, it is the option to affiliate a club in a foreign country that you pick to get a feeder club to within the country "be a major benefit to all merchandise sales" ?

Anyone else having issues with this?
