radestock
I'm guessing your running at 1280x800? You have a couple of options here but either way you need to do the following first: Create a shortcut for FM08 on your desktop if you don't already have one. Right click on it and choose 'properties'. Find the 'target' box (it should contain "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe") Now your two options: 1. Make the game run in full screen mode at 1280x800. This will stop it looking squashed. Add the following into the target box AFTER "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" and AFTER the quotation mark: --fullscreen_height=800 --fullscreen_width=1280 So your Target box should read - "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" --fullscreen_height=800 --fullscreen_width=1280 Press 'Apply' and then 'OK'. Run the Game using the shortcut. 2. Make the game run in a desktop window. Add the following into the target box AFTER "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" and AFTER the quotation mark: --small_screen --windowed So your Target box should read - "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" --small_screen --windowed Press 'Apply' and then 'OK'. Run the Game using the shortcut. Now go into game preferences and under 'display and sound' untick the box saying 'Full Screen'. Tick the option saying 'always reload on confirm' then press confirm. Previously you would probably have gotten a message to change your resolution but now your game will run in a window.

Frankie 7
Is a 17' screen best to run FM in wondowed mode on a laptop?
michaeltmurrayuk
It depends on the resolution of the screen - ideally you need a screen bigger than 1024x768, as the window border and taskbar take up room. A resolution of 1280x800 should allow you to play windowed, I think that is the common Widescreen resolution for laptops?
jkmhenry
I can't seem to make this work. Using Vista Home Basic and I added the piece to the shortcut. Note: Nevermind, moved the taskbar to the side and now it works.
