stezza11
Quick question... but why do players contracts in England end in June? Inevitably, their club football doesn't stretch past the end of May. I've got players in my lower league side who I want rid of, but can't get them off the books until their contracts end and I'm going to end up paying 4 weeks wages for them all when I want rid. They won't accept mutual terminations either!
looknohands
I believe it's due to the fact that the transfer window doesn't upen until July.
stezza11
So has it just been set like that by SI? Shame if that's the case as I could save quite a bit of cash getting rid of these players!
looknohands
I believe it's just the way it works in real life, with contracts in much of the world running from July1st to June 30th. This way, players get paid year-round instead of going a month without pay (because of penny-pinching owners like you
mije1983
IRL players contracts often run until 30th June, so it's nothing to do with SI.
