Deloma
Is there an easy way to identify which panels is used in game when looking at it? Now for example I want to change buttons on top menu bar but there is no way of telling where to find those after extracting all xml files from panels archive.. michaeltmurrayuk
If you haven't done any editing before then read this thread first : Football Manager 2010 Skinning Guide Part 1: The Basics (The instructions are for fm2010 but the gist of the information is the same). You can tell what most of the xml files do via their name, most of the files also tend to have the panel title in the first few lines which shows as the panel title in the game. The xml files will also tell you what files they link to and what graphics they are using. Other than that it's just a case of opening the various xml files and you can normally tell after a while from the coding that screen that file applies to. You also need to look in the skins.fmf file first as the game will look for the files there first. For example the menubar is controlled by the menubar.xml file that should be located in skins/fm2011/panels folder (Though it was updated by the patch so you'll want the file from the updates folder)
