Zenden is another player who didnt impress and will be shown the door in the new season. 11(1) and nothing of any value to add to the team.

Sissoko is young and a good back up for Alonso and will remain so. 16(5) with a goal and 4 assists from the DMC position.

Alonso was out the side and then won his way back in and was a rock in front of the back 4. 40(4) with 3 goals, 4 assists and a MOM.

My captain and club hero Stevie G played the perfect captains season. 43(4), 6 goals and 8 assists.

Garcia had a role to play and did that with great effect. 42(2) with 16 goals, 9 assists and 1 MOM.

Pongolle was used as back up to Garcia and as a striker. 21(3) with 10 goals and 3 assists.

Kewell played 38 games. 1 goal with 13 assists and 3 MOM, a perfect winger.

D' Allesandro was in the team until my tactics changed. 26(11). He scored 2 goals, 9 assists and a MOM. Not bad for aplayer with no real position and was put to play all over the park.

Cisse scored more than a goal a game. 51 from 48(2) with 17 assists and 12 MOM. He was the player in the side that made it tick.

Crouch was the super sub 20(17) but did ok and got 14 goals, made 17 with 2 MOM awards. Will have an able back up partner with Fowler next season.

Nandoalso scored goals aplenty with 37 from 42(4) with 21 assists and 10 MOM awards. A great player and will help in next season drive for success.

The final table was one to be proud of. After 46 games we had won 32, drawm 9 and only lost 5. We amassed 109 goals with 50 against and racked up 105 points. Palace and Ipswich join us in the PL next season.

Wigan, Bolton and Charlton take the drop to the C while Chelski ran out PL Champs by 9 points over ManUre. Other CL spots go to the Gooners and Spurs.

In another coup, Liverpool have snatched Duff from PL winners Chelski on a free transfer. The 28 year old LM will be an aweosme asset and will come with a 5.5 million price tag at least. This may mean Pongolle or D' Allesandro are shown the door in the break.

Not surprisingly, Cisse was the Liverpool player of the year and rightly so. If he can shine in the PL like he did in C, he will be touted by every major club in the world.

The PL fixtures are announced and its a starting home game game for WBA and a debut for the New Anfield stadium. After NA first PL game, we travel to London and meet Spurs and then have the Villians at home.

With the Reds receiving 13.75 million for TV rights, Liverpool are out of debt and showing a healthy profit and wages can resume as normal.

Chelski will be out opposition in the Community Shield to get the season underway.

With the club expecting to make Europe next season I thought I would need to seel to get transfer funds but the board offer me a hefty 29.5 million to get the players to achieve this. I start looking right away for an injury free keeper to play with Reina and a few quality players to fill other spots in the squad. I will only buy a player if there is another player that will be replaced.

Liverpool dig deep into their pockets and splash out 18 million for solid defender Ledley King from Spurs. After having many initial bids rejected, the Reds eventually got their man for a Liverpool transfer record.

Liverpool also fignt off a strong attack from the Gooners for Aussie Kewell. After hagling with both sides, Kewell put pen on paper for a new contract at the same he was currently being paid.

Finally a keeper gets signed so Kirkland and his injury ridden career can leave NA. Leo Franco has cost 11.75 from At Madrid and will provide ample cover for Reina if not challenge him for a starting position.

The season started with 4 friendlies in which we won all 4 and scored a decent 9 goals and condeded only 1.

The Community Shield was our first real test of the season and a good indication of how we would perform this season. Chelski came with a world class side and we PL champs had a lot to prove against a newly promoted Liverpool.

Debuts were given to King, Duff (v his old club) and a resurgent Robbie Folwer. Leo Franco was out injured for the match.

Just before the half, Chelski has a goal disallowed and went into the break 0-0.

The second half was just as tight with opportunities at a premium and that saw the game being decided by penalties.

And that was it, over.

Liverpool had beaten the mighty Chelski and won the CS. Liverpool had proven that they will be a side to be reckoned with in the coming season.

With Liverpool coming back to the PL, it was West Brom who were to visit NA for the opener. Nando and Cisse carried on where the ended last season, netting goals and providing a decent 2-0 start to the campaign.

Spurs away at WHL in London are as tricky as they come, and this time was no different. Goals from Nando and a debut goal for Duff playing in the AMC helped get a valuble point for the Reds.

The Villians came to Anfield with a decent assembles side that included ex Red Baros as well as Bouma, Porborsky, Clichy and MOM for Villa Dudek. The ex Red stopper had a great gamed and earned his new side a vital point at his old ground.

City hosted the Reds and scored 2 on the 10 and 18th minutes of the game and got to the break with the same score intact. Cisse came off the bench for Folwer and last seasons tactics of a DM and AMC were changed to a regular 442 attacking and it paid dividends. Cisse got a brace to earn a point and the tactic is here to stay for the rest of the season or at least until we falter.

Ipswich did not provide much opposition despite scoring 2 goals at NA as the Reds ran away 4-2 winners with a hat trick from Cisse and a Stevie G stunner.

In the 1st round of the EUFA Cup, we travelled accross the border to Scotland to meet Motherwell. Fowler got his first for the club since his return and doubled his goal tally in the 2nd half to record a 2-1 away win. As ususal, the squad team were given chances to shine.

Next in our path was an away game v the PL winners last season Chelski. Looking for revenge after we beat them in the Community Shiled, it was Robben who put them ahead on 2 minutes only for Cisse to score a minute later.

Despite Carra's red cargo in the 65th minute, the Reds hung on for a great draw and a point at the Bridge. Riise put in a workman like performance to get the MOM award for strong and reliable defence.

With Carra suspended for the game, Borrowdale filled the slot and helped his side toa 3-0 home win v West Ham. The Hammers offered little in attack and just as little in defence as Cisse and a Nando brace secured the points for the Reds. After 7 games Liverpool are in 5th spot with 13 pts and on track to get into Europe.

The board told us to qualify for Europe and the players were happy with the task, but I made the task a little harder by stating we want to play in the CL and not the EUFA Cup, so 4th spot is out target.

Kewell received a severe tongue lashing from me after injuring himself for a month after lifting weights that were to heavy for his little frame. As he slumbered out of the door with his Aussie tail between his legs I remarked that he was lifting weights so he can tie his bun and ponytail tightly together like the Argies. He didnt find the funny side and went to the hairdresser for a wash and condition treatment.

One things about these Scottish sides is that they actually dont know when they beated and just dont give in. Motherwell crossed the border know that a hard task was ahead. Trailing 2-1 from the 1st leg, squad players and 1st team players were mixed.

Nando made it 1-0 on the night and 3-1 on aggerate. He then made it 2-0 (4-1). Folwer got his 3rd goald over the tie to make it 3-0 (5-1). The sweaties then struck back with 2 lates goals to make it 3-2 (5-3) to the Reds. Liverpool were to progress to the next round.

The EUFA group stages were drawn and would prove to be a bit if a tussle for a top 3 position, but with 2 bog games v Ajax and Galatasary, Liverpool and the fore mentioned would be favourites to go through. The other 2 sides competing are Hearts, another Scottish challenge and Dnipro of the Ukraine.

A quick bus trip to the Riverside v 4th place Brough was not enough to provide any competition for the newly promoted Liverpool. Cisse got things off to a good start and Nando scored from the rebound after Labont saved a Garcia penalty.Nando then made it 3-0 before Garcia, at the second attempt for the day, got his penalty after a handballin the area. MOM King is now flourishing in the back 4 and formed a good understanding with Hofland at Aggers expense. Hyypis has been moved to the reserves after the arrival of King and at 34 can help the youngsters come through the ranks with his experience, although he is wanting higher level footy.

Nando was privledged to win the player of the month away away from Reyes of the Gooners and his rock in defence King. I was also among the nominees as manager of the month.

Agger will reclaim his place in the first team for at least weeks while King is out injured after a training ground incident while Leo Franco and Crouch return to training after each being off for over a month. Leo Franco has spent more time injured than being the squad and resembles an elder Kirkland only with a bit more hair and easier on the eyes than the other young injury prone shot stopper.

Bruno Miguel Dos Santos has been signed for free from Maritimo. In exchange, they have asked for 50% of his next transfer and a friendly. He will join in the new year and be cover for Carra if he is actually any good.

Nando is out for a month after a training ground incident with Crouch. The UK and EURO players are torn after the EURO boys claimed it was foul play and an attempt to get into the first team. After a bit of hostility they all celebrate and make up over a few litres of sangria. Clearly to much from Leo Franco, the most injury prone keeper in the world...even more so than Kirky, who tries to save a Stevie G penalty with a beer can and gets knocked out. He is also out for a month with a hangover and a sore head.

The Toffees host the Reds in the Merseyside derby. This time around though, a resurgent Everton under the guidance of Klinsman win the game 1-0 thanks to a Cahill strike and take the pts. Everton hand Liverpool their first defeat of the season.

Carlisle come to NA for the LC and get easily dispatched 2-0 after goals from Fowler and Crouch. Hofland puts in another monster performance while D' Allesandro is sidelined for a month after a dangerous tackle in the first half.

The same weekend sees the Gooners come to NA. In a game that lived up to expectation, both sides are relived to share the points after a titanic 3-3 draw. Crouch, Alonso and Cisse for the Reds and a brace Bojinov and a late equalliser from Henry in a 6 goal thriller.

Liverpool draw Oxford at home in the LC 4th round while ManUre take on Chelski.

Hearts come ever the border to face the Reds in the EUFA Cup and go back over the border with nothing, even though scoring 2 goals, Sissoko, 2 from Alonso and a Carra header makes it 4-2.

Another PL game and another draw, this time against Birmingham. Risse put the Reds ahead and Crouch makes it 2-1 but in the last 5 mins the Brummies score to take it 2-2. An away point but more likely 2 pts lost than a point gained.

The squad of 20 is looking ok for the PL but there are a few changes to be made when money is available. With Dos Santos coming in the new year, maybe another LB is required as Borrowdale is just not up to it. In the middle, a RM is needed to take over from Garcia or Pongolle. The rest of the midfield is good with Duff and Kewell on the LM with the centre covered by Stevie G, Alonso, D' Allesandro and Sissoko. Up front, 2 new players are to come in to replace Crouch and Fowler. This is my target before the next season starts.

Newcastle arrived at NA with lone striker and ex Red Mickey Owen and ex Chelski DMC Makalele, they were the driving force behind their 2nd spot in the table. Robbie put the Reds 1-0 and thats how the game ended but only thanks to a sensational game from shot stopper Reina who deserved the accolades he received from the madia and pundits after the game.

With Leo Franco back in the squad and Kirky back in reserves, we dealt a blow when Riise and Stevie G are both sidelined for a month.

With 3rd place ManUre arriving at the NA, it was always gonig to be hard without Nando, Riise and Stevie G. Agger took up the LB berth in place of Borrowdale and Sissoko into the MC potition to fill the bog boots of Stevie G.

The game started at a frantic pace when Rude (Yes I know its Ruud) should have been sent off on a challenge on Cisse that resulted in him being taken off injured after only 10 minutes of the game. With the Reds under pressure, it was against the run of play when Duff made it 1-0 to have the New Kop chanting his name. Alonso then hit a screamer against the bar that fell to Sissoko to make it 2-0 and a minute later get a second after slick work to make it 3-0. On 45 mins, Garcia had his penalty saved by Eddie vd Sar when Crouck went down in the box from another Rude challenge.

Into the 2nd half, Duff was replaced after an injury and Kewell took his familiar place on the LM. MOM Carra took another hard challenge from the Rude boy and this time the red got it right and handed the Dutchie a strait red card and as Alex watch him slump down the tunnel, so did ManUre chances and the game ended 3-0.

A game of this magnitude did come with casualties and Kewell and Cisse (3 weeks) and Duff (one month) joined Stevie G, Riise and Nando on the side.

Good news was that Nando was back to full fitness and training with the squad. He would be on the bench in the EUFA game in Ukraine and guaranteed at least 20 mins to start his rehabilitation.

With the temp at a staggering -3, Liverpool went to Ukraine to play Dnipro and fell foul to the weather as they crashed 2-1 with Robbie F getting on the scoresheet.

It was 2 losses in a row for the Reds as they crumbled at Carrow Road against bottom side Norwhich. The Reds went behind to a goal against the run of play but things looked good when Robbie F and Nando make it 2-1. 2 second half goals that included a Becklam like chip from way out v Wimbledon to win the game after Reina was caught to far out. An embarressing loss for the Reds to take in. Although missing 6 players to injury, that is what a squad is for and you need faith in the squad.

Clearly with no faith in some players, Traore get given a NA revival call and is put into the squad while Borrowdale is dropped to the reserves. D' Allesandro also makes a welcome return in the middle after a long lay off.

A 3rd defeat in a row, this time to Turks Galatasary. Traore retunred to make his first start of the year and it looked good when Robbie F scored in the 3rd minute og the game. Gala were back on lever terms before the break and Ali scored a brace to win the game and ensure they and Ajax qualify and Liverpool drop to 4th behind Dnipro who have played all their games. For the Reds to qulaify, tehy need to beat in form Ajax in Amsterdam.

19th place Cardiff came to NA but with Riise, Kewell, Duff, Stevie G and Cisse still injured, few people gave the Reds a chance to take the points even against such lowly opposition. The game started and ended at 0-0 and a bore draw was the reaction from the crowd, media and board. On a positive nore, I was inforned that Stevie G , Kewell, Cisse and Riise were back to full training and a few others out injured would be back shortly.

Liverpool travel to Palace in the FA Cup 3rd round.

Oxford arrive at the NA facing a Liverpool side giving games to Stevie G, Riise, Cisse and Kewell. Cisse marks his retun after 10 mins with a goal and Stevie G sets up Crouch to make it 2-0. Oxford pull one back before Riise assists Sissoko to make the game safe at 3-1. Kewell does his stuff down the LM and all 4 players make a good return to the team and this is boosted when Cisse get the MOM award after being off injured for so long.

Our next game was Southampton at St Mary's and Liverpool after recent bad form needed to get back to winning way, it was good news that most of the squad was available and cappy Stevie G got the show on the road with an early strike. The rest of the team then sat in cruise control and watched the Crouc show as he hit a fantastic hat trick against his old club as he sprinted ahead to get the MOM award for a brilliant performance.

Duff returned to full fitness in time for the Ajax game. Make or break, that was the pre match summary of this EUFA tie.

Liverpool went to Amsterdam knowing only a win would do to qulaify. Stevie G set up Cisse to make it 1-0. de Jong then gave away a silly peanut and got a red card for his efforts, Garcia made it 2-0. Fit again Duff assisted in Nandos goal to make it 3-0 and sub Kewell got in on the act to make it 4-0. The ever impressive Riise helped himself to the MOM.

Liverpool would face Dortmund in the 1st knockout round and then either Steau or Greek side Panatanikos in the next round if they got through Dortmund.

18th place Pompey face Liverpool coming off a few wins and looking to cement their place in the EURO spots while Pompey are fighting against the drop. On this day however, Liverpool were to good and put more pressure on the relegation canditates as they ran out 3-0 winners. Alonso and a Nando brace. Although King got the MOM, special mention must go to Reina who saved a penalty at 1-0 after Hofland had commited a misdemeanour which swung the game and also Nando whose brace soon after that killed off the game and any chances of a Pompous Pompey come back.

City visited the NA in the quarters of the LC. After a dull 0-0 draw, Riise, Cisse and Stevie G were presented to the game for extra time. It took Riise only 6 minutes to get the Reds in the lead and then ex City player Robbie F made the game safe. Cisse set up both goals so the subs were the right choice. King playing out his boots in defence gets a consecutive MOM.

The semi final draw will be a test of skill and wits in both games. Liverpool get Middlesbrough and Newcastle get Palace.

Blackburn, although an away game was always gonig to bring in the 3 pts. Sitting in 18th, they were fighting the drop with a weak squad that included ex Reds Matteo, Friedel and recently departed Finnan. Hofland shone in defence while a Nando brace and Cisse gave the away side a comfy win in the PL and cemented their 4th position.

News on the injury front is Reina is out for 3 weeks. Leo Franco, if he can stay fit, will get an extended run and Kirky back on the bench.

Boxing day saw Palace come to NA with the likes of once Red target Andy Johnson, Dacourt and Djemba Djemba (so good they named him twice) in their squad. 2 goals in 2 mins on 12 and 14 saw Cisse and Nando make it 2-0, while a 2nd half penalty from Garcia, after Steveie G was interfered with, made it 3-0. The game saw 3 injuries, to Alonso, Cisse and Robbie F. The main concern was Alonso who will have a 3 week break on the treatment table.

Next up was WBA at the Hawthorns and an early Cisse goal made it 1-0 before WBA leveled and thats how the game ended in a dull draw.

Hofland for the player of the month award with Duff in the nominees and I got manager of the month.

With the year end just passed, Liverpool were back where they belonged. Since bouncing back up from the C, they were 4th in the PL 4 pts behind the leaders. In the EUFA, FA Cup and LC semis as well as winners of the CS v Chelski.

All in all, a good year so far.

NA hosted Spurs on new years day. Lucky for the hung over crowd it was a dull game. Leo Franco and D' Allesandro were in for injured Reina and Alonso. King was facing his club for the first time and was a rock in defence, but it was Cisse who stole the show with a single goal to make it 1-0 and give the pts to Liverpool.

Palace away in the FA Cup 5th round and the squad players were given a chance with first team players. Riise got injured after 6 mins to be replaced by Traore and soon after that Andy Johnson, the once sought after striker, made it 1-0 for the home side. on 23 mins Crouch was injured and Cisse to replace him. At half time Duff came on for a slightly injured Hofland and attached with only 3 in the back. It paid dividends when Robbie F made it 1-1 and afforder the Reds a replay at NA. Agger stood out in defence and played well to get MOM.

Riise and Crouch are both crocked for 1 month.

Traore leaves NA for 1.9 million to Sochaux in an attempt to play regular first team footy.

Liverpool or Palace will face Worksop in the FA Cup 4th round.

Reina back from imjury but Kewell out for 2 months with hip injury that is being treated by a specialist.

LC semi finals away and a Yakubu winner in the first half sers up an interesting battle at NA in the return leg. Both sides were poor and the game offered little. In the other game Palace lost 2-3 at home v Newcastle.

The Villians away without injured Riise, Alonso, Kewell, Crouch and a suspended King would be a hard prospect. New signing Szabics made it 1-0 to Villa on his debut for the club after only 5 minutes and Ciise looked to have leveled but his goal disallowed for offside. Up step Nando and a brace at the end of the game with the winner coming in the 93rd minute was harsh for the home side but earned him the MOM and pundits across Europe making a fuss of him especially with Arsenal after his signature.

D' Allesandro and Leo Franco our for a month but Alonso makes a welcome return to the squad after a month.

Anew keeper arrives at the clib as back up for Reina. 18 year old Vincent Degre of Metz joins for 550k. This will spell the end of Kirky NA career and the ever injured Leo Franco will also be shown the door soon as well for a huge loss. Costing 11.75, he will only for for around 4 million.

Palace arrive at NA for the FA Cup replay and are blown away 4-0. A brace from Robbie F, a Garcia penalty and Alonso free kick seal the game. Hofland get another MOM and Nando assists in all 4 of the goals for his side, a date at home with Worksop awaiting in the next round.

Riise retunrs to full training and will be available for the next fixture.

City come to NA for a supposed guarantee 3 pts for Liverpool, but Hoflands red card after just 5 mins will ensure its a hard contest. Nando eventually gets the break in the 85th minute for 10 man Liverpool and Distin makes sure both sides end with 10 players after a 90th min red card.

Nardiello leaves NA to go to PNE for 1 million.

Middlesbrough come to NA for the 2nd leg semi final. Trailing 1-0 after the Riverside game, Liverpool have it all to do in the tie, especially with Leo Franco, Kewell, D' Allesandro and Crouch injured, Hofland and Alonso suspended and Sissoko at an International. Nando get the first and second before Cisse gets in on the act. Nando gets his third to make it 4-0 on the night. Middlesbrough get one back to have a sniff of the final before Folwer arrives off the bench to make it 5-1. Cisse receives a standing applause from the happy home fans. A Quedrue peanut makes it 5-2 on the night and 5-3 on aggergate as Liverpool make the final.

In the other seimi finals, Palace shock Newcastle 2-0 at St James park to book a place in the final v Liverpool at Wembley.

Out of favout Kirky rejects a permanent move to Pompey for 1.5 million to joins Celtic on load until the end of the season.

Worksop come to NA with scant hope of beating the holders. Degre gets his debut in goal and Liverpool run out 5-0 winners with goals from Carcia, Ciise 2, Alonso and Folwer. After the game, pundits are lost for words with the new shot stopper and agree that he will become a fan favoutire at NA.

Charlton will face Liverpool in the FA CUp 5th round at NA.

Medjani leaves Gooners for enemies Spurs for a cool 6 million, 1.2 of which comes to Liverpool for a 20% sell on clause.

19th place Ipswich host Liverpool with ex Red spitter Diouf in their starting line up at RM. He does not get the chance to shine as Alonso and Nando secure the win with 2 2nd half goals and all 3 pts. Reina puts in a MOM performance to remind young Degre that he is still around.

At the end of January, Liverpool are still in all competitions available. EUFA Cup, FA Cup 5th round, LC Final v Palace and 3rd in the PL after 24 games.

Nando get his just reward for awesome goals with the goal of the month, while I am nominated in the manager of the month, which is won by Chelski's Moaninho.

With EUFA Cup ties v Dortmund, the only addition to my squad is Degre.

D' Allesandro return from lay off and is available to play in the weekends game, Crouch also returns to the squad.

Liverpool travel to Upton Park to take on the Hammers in the PL. After a 3-0 at NA, Liverpool are confident to get all 3 pts. Still without Kewell (inj), Hofland and Duff (sus for 5 yellow cards each), Liverpool put on a first class show for the Liverpool fans and run away comfy 5-1 winners. Garcia made it 1-0 and then the turning point in the game, Reina saves a penalty and from there the Hammers has lost all inhibition and sunk. A Nando hat trick and 1 from Cisse ended the route. Although Nando got the MOM awarr for 3 goals, it was Cisse who took my honours, not lnly for 1 goal, but 3 assists.

Apart from lifting the CL v Palace, February was a terrible month for Liverpool.

Dortmund at NA in the EUFA Cup. Liverpool still had Kewell and Stevie G injured while the away side boasted talented Dede and Rosicky. The away side put in a perfromance second to none and thrashed Liverpool 3-0, it would be a big ask for the Reds to progress in the competition.

Chelski next visited Liverpool in the PL and with HK, SG and DC injured, itwas going to be a big ask and in the end Chelski taugh us a lesson in footy and a 3-1 away win with Garcia the only reply after the Reds trailed 3-0. This condemned Liverpool to ehri first PL defeat in 12 games but still on track for the CL, the players target.

More bad news was to follow with Hyypia announcing he would leave under the Bosman after his current deals expries, with him battling for a position and at 34, he had no choice if he still harboured ambitions to play at a high level.

FA Cup 6th round would see either Liverpool or Charlton take on ManUre at Old Trafford.

Alonso suffers the same injury as HK and is out for 2 months with a hip injury, while Stevie G returns to the squad after injury.

Dortmund away was a forgone conclusion, so all squad players got a run and did ok, even though they lost 2-0. Folwer nearly got one back was flagged for off sides.

Onto the LC Final and Palace were the opposition at Wembley. Johnson was unlucky after 5 mins when his goal was not given for off sides. On 10 mins, Nando set up Cisse to make it 1-0. Cisse then hit the post and nearly doubled the lead but then returned the favour to Nando and set him up for 2-0. Just before the break, Johnson did get one that stood and HT was 2-1.

Early in the 2nd half, Duff almost made it 3-1 but hit the post. D' Allesandro then set up Cisse for his 2nd before Johnson got his 2nd to make it 3-2. Cisse again set up Nando before Macken made it 4-3 and thats how it ended.

Liverpool had another trophy and Nando got MOM shortly before Stevie G lifted the trophy above his head.

Charlton came to NA in the FA Cup5t round and after Nando put the Reds 1-0 up, Charlton earned a home replay in the 85th minute of the game. Boasting a midfield with Ex Red Murphy as well as Holland and Bowyer, they were no east side to see off and the replay will be difficult.

In out hardest month since returning to the PL, we won the LC and we still in the FA Cup. We got dumped out of Europe though and still lie 3rd in the table with a game in hand over all the sides.

March was to prove a busy month for Liverpool, playing 8 games.

First up was Charlton away at the Valley in the FA 5th round replay. Bent got the home side off to a good start after 5 minutes but Nando drew level shortly after that. Cisse made it 2-1 before Nando's 2nd made it safe at 3-1. Carra played his heart out in defence and got MOM. A tricky away game v ManUre in the 6th round at JJB, ManUres home stadium while OT is getting a roof put on.

Apart from a dull 0-0 draw at home to Middlesbrough was the fact that Duff is out for a month.

3 days later and it was time for the Merseyside Derby at NA. Goals either side of the half from Cisse and Nando saw the pts go to the Reds while the Blue side of Liverpool had to wait another year to try get the pts from NA. Hofland put in a huge effort to keep the Blues scoreless and got MOM for his efforts.

Newcastle away would prove to be a hard game with ex Red Mickey Owen in the line up. 2nd v 3rd with 1 point difference. MOM Reina kept a clean sheet in an exciting 0-0 draw and pulled off a super penalty stop from Luque in the 33rd min of the game.

Arsenal away and another draw, but Liverpool glad to walk away with the points. Nando leveled after a Hofland OG put the home side in the lead.

A run of hard games and it only gets better with an away game v ManUre in the FA Cup 6th round. With all squad players in for injured and tired players, it was Pongolle who got the show on the road to make it 1-0 to lead to the break. Rude got the game level just after the restart but a Sissoko stunner made it 2-1 and booked a place in the semi finals.

The FA Cup draw was as follows.

Liverpool v Chelski

Spurs v Man City

Birmingham at home should have been a breeze adn after Nando made ir 1-0 it should have been a route. Reina missed a penalty (He is not on my list to take them???) and a Kolar red card should have wrapped up the game, but nobody told Birmingham who scored 2 late goals to win 2-1 and take all 3 pts.

Norwich at NA and a must win game. Almost at full strength, only Riise and Alonso missing. Captain for Norwich is ex Red Carson who played well and makes me wonder he didnt perform like this at NA. After a goal free first half, Cisse and MOM Stevie G made it 2-0 late in the game and got all 3 pts for the home side.

Ipswich relegated from PL.

Chelski retain the PL title and Leeds win C to get promotion to PL.

Cardiff away and all 3pts required if we to finish in the top 4 and qualify for CL. Cardiff in 19th get an early set back when Cisse nets for the Reds. however, on 23 mins King get s ared card only for Stevie G to make it 2-0 for 10 man Liverpool. Duff is replaced due to slight injury by D' Allesandro at the break and he helps Nando net a brace before Dawson get a red for the home side. Miller gets 2 late goals to make the score respectable at 4-2 and a debut for Dos Santos in the RB position makes the new youngster a Liverpool first team player.

King is suspended for his red card and Pongolle is out for 1 month with injury.

ManUre away after the FA Cup win would prove to be hard. 3rd and 4th in the table and 4 pts difference, there was all to play for. Dos Santos on his 1st start for the club hobbled off after 18 mins replaced by Sissoko with Stevie G filling in the RB. Kewell replacing D' Allesandro at teh break and it seemed to work when Cisse made it 1-0. But it was time for the Rude show and 3 goals in 27 mins including a penalty gave the home side the 3 pts and cut the difference to 1 pts with 4 to play. Still 5 pts clear of 5th place Middlesbrough.

Southampton at home and another lowly side fighting for survival caused all sorts of hassles. With ex ManUre keeper in goal, Howard would prove to be the difference only conceding in the 88th minute to a Crouch goal v his old club, this after Southampton took the lead early on in the game against the run of play.

Cardiff takes the plunge from the PL.

Middles Queudrue unhappy with his manager ofter a 3.2 million bid by Liverpool is turned down.

Chelski in the FA Cup semi at Wembley and this is the 2nd time this fixture has taken place, the 1st was a penalty win for Liverpool over Chelski in the CS during the season opener. At half time it was a Drobga goal to make it 1-0 but with only 15 mins to go sb Crouch leveled matter to tak the tie into extra time. No such luck this time though as goals from Eidur and Terry game the PL winners a 3-1 win and will advance to meet Spurs in the final after they beat City on penalties the day before.

Alonso regain full fitness and can play in competitive games again.

The final game of the season v Palace away and a must win if the players and myself are to realise our potential and make the CL in the first season back after being relegated and gaining promotion.

A familiar Reds side. Reina in goal. Carra and Agger (Riise inj) with Hofland and King in the middle. Duff and Garcia on the flanks with Alonso and captain Stevie G controling the middle. Cisse and Nando up front. The bench with Degre, Sissoko, Kewell, D' Allesandro and Folwer.

Duffs get the game off to a cracker after his cross finds Nando to make it 1-0. Stevie G makes it 2-0 and a Palace goal ends the first half with the Reds in 2-1 at the break.

Garcia get the chance to make it 3-1 from the spot but Poom saves the spot kick, only for Nando to correct the scoreline to 3-1 2 mins later. A late goal from Palace make it 3-2 but they can do much and MOM Nando and his brace ensure CL footy for the Reds next seaon.

In the other games...

Gooners 0-0 Newcastle

Norwich 1-2 Chelski

ManUre 1-0 Hammers

The final table...

Chelski 90

Newcastle 74

Liverpool 72

ManUre 71

Gooners 69

Liverpool receive 10.75 million for the 3rd spot in the table.

Players awards were tight as usual and Robben bear Nando to the top award while Moaninho beat me to the manager award. Rude pipped Nando to top goalscorer award.

With my season over and having achieved out target and so much more, this story comes to a close, but, not before going through the players season and how they performed while I took them from the C to the PL and back into CL footy.

Leo Franco - the most injury prone keeper in the world, even worse than Kirky. He will be off loaded for a cut price in the off season.

Reina - again my number 1 and 5 MOM from 47 games, what a player.

Degre - only 2 games but still young and the new number 2 at the club.

Carra - the most played player for the season who for another goal, 5 assist and 2 MOM awards. Mr Reliability

Hofland - regained his place from Agger and played 55 games with 3 assits and 4 MOM.

Agger - still a player to have in your side with 6 assist and a MOM.

King - top dog in the back 4 and still many years ahead will be a NA great.

Dos Santos - like Borrowdale, only time will tell if he will be a Reds players for long.

Riise - missed most of the season with a broken leg but still did the biz while fit with 28 games. 2 goals, 9 assists and 2 MOM

Alonso - top player in CM until his hip injury vost him his season. 7 goals, 4 assist and 1 MOM

Sissoko - always there in the thick if things. Still young and will be a NA legend. 5 goas and 3 assists.

Stevie G - captain couragous. 5 goals, 7 assists and 1 MOM. So much can be said if him but he does his talking on the field.

Garcia - moved to the RM after a change of tactics. 7 goals, and 8 assists, still a quality player.

Pongolle - the is he or isnt he player for the side. 1 goal, 3 assists and 1 MOM, all his games came late in the season.

Kewell - played 2nd fiddle to Duff and was used as a sub mostly. 1 goal and 5 assists.

Duff - came from the PL winners and performed well for the season. 2 goals, 8 assists and 2 MOM.

D' Allesandro - back up in the middle but could play in most first teams. 3 assists in his 27(10) games.

Nando - player of the season. 38 goals, 20 assists and 11 MOM. A living legend.

Robbie F - 14 goals in 23 starts and the reason why he is ample back up.

Crouch - 9 goals, 5 assists and 2 MOM from only 14(8) games.

Cisse - 29 goals, 25 assists and 3 MOM. Another brilliant season.

The team as a whole did very well after promotion to the PL. Maybe we set our targets to high but we put in the hard miles and got them.

1st round knockouts in the EUFA Cup. 3rd in the PL. FA Cup semi finals. LC winner and CS winners.

All in all a great season and a great game.

Here's an hint you bitter bluenosed loser. This is a story forum - friendly banter and digs are acceptable . . . But you in my opinion, are way out of order. 1) You can't be arsed to attempt a story 2) You can't be arsed to offer feedback (critical or otherwise)

And you can feck off if you think this has anything to do with the fact that I'm a kopite icon_biggrin.gif - It has everything to do with common courtesy
