Falahk
Like i promised in the 4-2-3-1 (with 3 amc's thread), since I now feel comfortable with the line up I'm using, I will now publish the first version of my tactic, that I have used to great effect with Real Madrid. Download: http://www.filefront.com/17137890/-4-2-3-1-exprimental-Roma-May-2011.tac/ I have noticed that the playmaker/targetman setings mess up when you move players around in the team, the CM/deep playmaker with best passing should be your main playmaker, while the striker should be the targetman/w play into feet Important stuff to keep in mind when using this tactic: 1) this tactic is in essence a defensive tactic using no defensive players other then the goalie and the cb's, so dont expect high scoring games, this tactic is built to grind down the opposition and sooner or later cut apart the opposing defence with a killer pass in to the poacher or scrocher that ends up in the back of the net, or a rebound etc to illustrate this point i will use my Real save as an example: I scored an averange of 2 goals a game, while leting in 0,6 goals a game 2) if you dont have suitable players to play this tactic, your team will prolly get trashed. 3) this tactic prolly work best for a world class side with a highly creative midfield, or for a team that is good for the division they play in Building the team: Goalie: your regular shoot stoping bloke, Reflexes, Handling, Jumping, Agilety are stats to aim for, good kicking/throwing is a bonus Fullbacks: good physical attributes is a must, Pace and Acceleration in particular, other decent defensive stats is a bonus as is good corssing Centerbacks: your regular strudy pair, one of them should be slighlty faster and play in the cover role, they also have to be good in the air, since the rest of your team wont give em much help in that department Midfileders: this is the most intresting part and what sets my tactic apart from all other, this tactic uses no less then 5 playmakers, if you play in a big league (england/spain/italy/france/germany), ALL your middfielders must have 16 or better in the following five attributes: Passing, Creativity, First Touch, Technique, Flair I like to play my slightly faster, or the once with better offencive stats on AMCr/AMCl while the slightly more defensive oriented players goes on MC (Xabi Alonso was my most defensive oriented middfielder with Real....so i dont put much importance on defensive stats) Lone striker: he should be your regular poacher type of striker, he must have good Pace, Acceleration and Off the ball. Break offside trap ppm is a big advantage (since it drasticaly incresse the amounts of ccc's you create), other good striker stats wont hurt ether, ofcorse

Falahk
im currently exprimenting with a pair of 4-3-2-1 formations to alternate to, in order to pull a suprise on the ai, since those formations use a relativly similar set of players, it can provide a good alternative in case one get stuck would also be nice to get some kind of feedback on the intial 4-2-3-1 formation

Falahk
It's too easy with Real... ofcorse, its to easy with any club that can make the right signings, i picked Real for testing since it was the club that best mirrored the player types i had with Roma on fm08, so less transfer work for me in the first window, and more time to focus on the tactic
