Robbo88
It depends really, on who you loan them out too. If you loan them out to a team were they will sit on the bench all the time and not get played then its not gonna be very benficial for them, and they won't improve much. But on the other hand i would imagine first team competitive football would improve them rather than sitting in the reserves, but then raises the question would they decrease in stats due to poor training if they are loaned to a lower league club? Interesting question!
theincrediblehulk
If you send them to a club with decent training facilities where he's going to get first team football, then they'll improve at a faster rate than they will at your club. If they're going to be sitting on the bench and the training facilities are not as good as yours, then no point sending them out on loan. They wont become "worse" in any way. Their stats wont start to plummet a lot if they went to a lower club (unless they dont play that is). Its just that they wont develop. That'll be one year wasted and the chances of them reaching their potential become lesser. The biggest problem is when you have a versatile player who you send out on loan and he starts getting played out of position. For eg, you send Carlos Vela on loan and he starts getting played on the left wing whereas you see him as a striker. That could be bad as some of his stats like crossing etc which arent essential for a striker will increase but the key ST stats wont.
