I did as you asked and contacted support. After checking my dxdiag (twice), suggesting that I update my graphics drivers, ignoring the fact that this issue occurred after the January update and ignoring the fact that other users had the same issue, they suggested that I just don't use that file anymore. So as much as I understand your initial suggestion for this, it has been a waste of a week and support were entirely useless.
