limited formation options in initial tactic creation

To clarify, this is when the 'create your own style' choice is selected, but every choice seems to have extremely limited options.

There have been changes with the formations available and so this is by design, the base options available are more in line with the positions in which teams utilise their pivoting roles.

i would suggest it needs looking at still, certainly from an AI point of view.
are there now less options that the AI will choose to use as a base formation?

as per below, out of 30 games we have faced a back 6 or 7 (3 CB, WBs and DM(s)) on 18 occasions. while seeing these defensively focused systems would be expected against some weaker teams, we are Fleetwood Town and having far superior sides also setup with these 'defence heave' tactics.

Yeah.. the AI managers generally use their 1st Pref formations even though they have 4 to choose from. So even if they have 4-4-2 as a second pref they will just use 5-3-2 even if they play against an underdog like in the pic above.
