FM2013-Tactical knowledge is very low!!!

During preseason, I usually focus on fitness, starting from 1st week in very high intensity, until they melt for a couple of weeks! Then, I mix it with balanced, team cohesion and tactics only 1 or 2 weeks before season kick-off.

It seemed to work well, as they learn my tactics soon and get on with the game.

This season though, although I got a new coach with tactical knowledge 19/20, after 5 matches, my team is 8th, with 6-8 goals

The percentage of the team's tactical knowledge is:

formation 10%

mentality 10%

passing style 38%

creative freedom 14%

closing down 24%

marking 100%

tempo 25%

width 25%

These are really sad numbers for that far in the season and my team is hanging. They are very inconsistent, playing 7-8 AR and next 5! They don't seem to know what they are really doing in the pitch and I am not sure what is wrong...

Any suggestions?

Why did you do fitness pre-season when the tactical knowledge was so bad?

Only thing you can do is 100% tactics until it gets nearly full.

I would expect them to learn on the way.

Now, I turned my tactics to 4-4-2 (from 4-2-1-2-1 or 4-1-2-2-1) and tey seem to know it better!

I don't understand, when I have hardly changed my formation the past couple of seasons, why every July, the same players seem to be clueless about it?

Signing new players & selling players reduces it over the off season.

Changing positions on the pitch lowers it significantly more than changing roles & duties.

OK, so let's see how long I'm going to last in this job then :o
