If it was pre-owned the previous owner will have used the code and they shouldn't have been selling it. Either way take it back to Asda and get a refund. Alternatively you could contact Sega and they might issue you with a new code but you would need to send them a copy of the receipt and a copy of the code off the box/manual which tends to be time consuming.
