can anybody tell me what the "hands on approach" means?

IMO it gives an indication of how much of your job you actually do.

so if you don't do team talks or you holiday alot, it lowers

I have a game where I have gone on holiday for every match and my hands on approach is 20.

I'm pretty sure holidaying doesn't change the stat. I think things like Team Talk, Media Interaction, Player Interaction and arranging friendlies help to build it up.

I'm pretty sure making individual training schedules also affects it.
