arsenal_2111
War Playing FM, and the draw for the last 16 of the CL has just taken place. I saw the line at the bottom 'Football fans anticipate England/Germany War' and thought, what the hell! I got a bit worried that SI had put war into the game, tbh! But I clicked on it, and it turned out that it was just Chelsea drawing Bayern Munich. I love seeing headlines that make things interesting, light hearted ones. But I think it is a bit over the top to describe a football match as war, something which a lot of people give their lives in and one of few things that I feel jokes shouldn't be made from. I'm sure a lot of people disagree with me, but I don't really think this is neccesary. Thanks, and sorry to moan:D:thup:
Ozzy38
I think it is over the top in that no-one here cares where the club is from, except maybe if they're Celtic or Rangers so it's a 'Battle of Britain' tie. I've never heard England/Germany or war referenced in real life when one of our country's clubs gets drawn with Werder Bremen or Schalke 04.
Twogoldfish
It's just banter now. Those days are long gone, and people should be able to talk freely about the war, as Europe is settled now. It doesn't offend me in the slightest.
TheKingKopite
Its a normal thing. England love beating Germany and Germany love beating England in any sport. Its great add!
Almondo
It's great. This is one of the lighter headlines IMO
