Carl87
Hi. What are the disadvantages of sending an injured player to see a specialist? Does it cost the club or what? Because if a player is injured you can either 1) Send to specialist and be out for 2 weeks or 2) Leave to physio and be out for 2 month. It's pretty obvious we're going to choose the specialist. So I was wondering what the disadvantages are?
Tal_Hides
As I understood it, it costs your club money to send a player to see a specialist. Obviously at any top club this isn't an issue, but say it was a reserve player in a lower league club, there's little point rushing his recovery by throwing money at it, when you're not going to play him anyway. Amaroq
Spot on, Tal_Hides. Basically, if he's a key part of your first team, send him to the specialist. If he's a high-potential youth player whom you have a lot of hope for, send him to the specialist; you don't want to risk a lengthy layaway during which he is not progressing. If he's a useful rotational player, or a medium-potential youth player, make your decision based on the club's financial picture. If you're quite content with the finances, send him to the specialist; if you are not, keep him at home. If he's an elder player falling towards retirement, on the transfer list, a low-potential youth player, or in on loan .. let the physio deal with it. saRp
I believe it also has an effect on the attributes while injured and on hte performance once he comes back
SCIAG
I believe it also has an effect on the attributes while injured and on hte performance once he comes back Only to the extent that attributes fall whilst a player is injured, so the less time out the better.
