I've just started a game with stoke and found I only have a 5m budget to spend; and stoke this year have strengthened with a few of the older players in the league, sorensen in his 30's, so is faye and numerous others. On fm08 by christmas the first 11 would struggle to make League 1/2 sides so I'm desperately hoping that its fixed so I won't have a team full of high wage wasters by january. Not sure if its been further refined in the patch (check the change list). I'm signing up some of the older stars, they are always something of a gamble but if things have improved you should get some time out of them.
