Joe 007
Hi, No symbols are showing on my screen. E.g £ comes up as an "A" with a circumflex above it. How do I correct this? Thanks, Joe.

Your currency might not be in pounds. You can go into preferences and change it back to pounds.
Joe 007
How would I get on to the 'preferences'? I've not been on in ages, not used to the new lay out.
jod123
How would I get on to the 'preferences'? I've not been on in ages, not used to the new lay out. Sorry, just to clarify, are you talking about the actual FM08 game?

jod123
Ah no, sorry, the forums. Sorry my first post was made assuming you were talking about the FM game. I'm not sure what you mean. Is is when you type something that it doesn't appear right? Could you post a screenshot of it so I can see exactly what you mean?
Joe 007
Example It's the highlighted area. Doesn't show the quote box, just the coding.
jod123
Example It's the highlighted area. Doesn't show the quote box, just the coding. I think it is like this for everyone. Migrating to this forum software caused this. Quotes from the previous forums are shown like that.
Äktsjon Männ
Example It's the highlighted area. Doesn't show the quote box, just the coding. It's the forum software change, the posts that were carried over were in different code so some symbols were lost in the process (like the Ä in my user name which has now changed into two different unreadable characters. Edit: I need to start typing faster :o
Joe 007
Ah, OK. So new posts wouldn't have the '£' problem?
jod123
Ah, OK. So new posts wouldn't have the '£' problem? I wouldn't think so. Can you see this £ symbol correctly?
Joe 007
Nope, comes up as an "A" with a circumflex.
jod123
Nope, comes up as an "A" with a circumflex. I don't know why that is. Are the quotes in this thread appearing correctly for you?

Strange it can't really be the browser then, I don't think. Is it just the £ symbol that is wrong or is there others?

Try the encoding anway... On Firefox it should be: Tools - Options - under Fonts & Colours click Advanced. Check the encoding... Some websites HTML lists a certain type of encoding, so it might not be the same on all websites... If that doesn't work, I don't have a scoobie sorry haha
