essien_5
Doesn't work!!! I've set Steam to offline mode, and everytime I try to play Football Manager I get a message saying 'cannot connect to steam network' and nothing happens. I have a boxed copy. I must say for how good FM is this year is being ruined by how awful steam is. If this is going to be the future, I'm going to have to seriously think about buying next year simply because Steam causes me so many problems!!! Scab
Make sure the "remember my password" checkbox is ticked the last time you log in when online so the credentials are stored locally. After that you should be able to pick offline mode when Steam can't get online.
methman99
steam offline is a nightmare... best thing to do is be online then switch into offline mode (steam -> go in offline mode), so on restart of steam it will work...
Chaucer
God I hate Steam! 1) had to reinstall (Steam crashed or refuesed to install shortcut) 2) Even in "offline" mode steam pop-ups in game when loading. 3) Slows everything else down on the computer when trying to alt-tap out (trying to write this is murder for instance). 4) Trying to alternate between laptop and home pc - to bad you forgot to log on to steam before you left home - now no internet connection can't play on trainride/vacation. (Sorry I hijacked the thread - just had to went my frustration, without opening another thread...)
