Smac
The best long term games I've had involve teams that can play in Europe, leagues that provide some competition in the top tier, and leagues that are going to take some work to improve through European success. That's why I like Bulgaria. Spartak S-94' Plovdiv, FTW! There are plenty of leagues with only 1 or 2 top teams, which can be quite boring as your only excitement will be in Europe. Another way to go is to play in South America. Just be warned that some of the divisions are so low in reputation that you won't be earning much manager reputation each season until you move up the leagues. But the player base and overall feel of South America can be pretty fun especially if you've never played there before.
