CazzaLTFC
This is now officially the first FM I'm going to have to give up on. The only way it works smoothly is if I install the game with the disk and don't use any patches. As soon as I use steam or any of the patches the match engine slows right down and matches just become too juddery to watch. I keep hearing that I should update my 'drivers' etc, which I've tried doing to no avail. Plus I still refuse to believe a game like FM shouldn't work on a laptop thats only around 3 months old. If anyone has any ideas of where I can go from here it would be much appreciated. Others I'm going to have to play the very first version of FM11 that came out with no patches, or just not attempt playing it at all!

Matt ex SEGA
If you could save out the report and copy the report down as far as "System Devices" that'd be great. Cheers Matt
CazzaLTFC
Where would I find that?
Matt ex SEGA
Run dxdiag. At the bottom right of the screen there's a "save all information" button - click that and it'll prompt you to choose where to save the file. Open the file and copy and paste the information from the top down to where it says "System Devices". It'll be quite a lot of info, but don't worry about that. Cheers Matt
timkanu
It is true after applying the patches the 3d veiw does go abit stuttery. It is barable on my pc. q6600@3.75 and a ATI 4870 But i can imagine that a lower spec machine might notice the stutter abit more? The acctual FPS does not decrease by the way, it jsut looks stuttery, but the acctual FPS is identical from before any patching. It kinda looks like its skipping frames. megafan2005
Could it be that the your graphics card is poor. One thing I experienced on my old laptop was very juttery match engine even on 2D! Since then I have updated my system with a laptop with similar specs to yours only a better processor and graphics card and I experience no stutter. CazzaLTFC
Where and how can you get a better graphics card? 2D is the problem on mine!
megafan2005
Unfortunately I have little experience with upgrading laptops but I would imagine unfortunately it would be rather tricky. Some of the more technically inclined members on here might be able to help or you could google it or ask on another forum. Hope this helps man
Matt ex SEGA
I'm gonna suggest contacting our Customer Services guys to see if they can help you update the graphics driver, it may well be that yours is a little out of date (even tho the laptop itself is new - this is not uncommon). Sorry - you've kind of exhausted my basic checklist and I'm not really a techy... Cheers Matt
