How true is the is the player media comparison?

I am Watford, 2nd season. My scout finds a young regen from Fleetwood town (random I know), 16 yrs old, striker. I click on him and to my surprise he's actually quite good for his age. Needs work but I sign him for 50k thinking 'what's the worst that can happen?'.

Anyway, about a week after I sign him, on his personal page, it says 'could be the next Peter Crouch'. What does this actually mean?

Does it mean that he definitely has a PA similar to Crouch?

Or does it mean that his PA could be anything? but the media are just exaggerating?

Any ideas?

I'd imagine it's to do with their attribute spread.

If I remember rightly, it's only that they share the same nationality and have a similar defining feature to their game. So your regen is English and (presumably) tall. Similarly a player might be described as the new Michael Owen if he was English and fast.

PA is irrelevant.
