'Processing Please Wait' message when getting to the Start Screen

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I installed FM11 with no problems, however i am getting a permanent 'Processing Please Wait' message when getting to the Start Screen:

This is on PC windows XP

I can not play or even start a new game, it just stays with that message on the start screen

Im running it on

2 gig Memory Ram

Quad core 1.8 mhz total +3.6 mhz

500 gig hardrive

Surely it cant be something wrong with my PC ?? i have had the same problem with the last 2 FM games

Can anyone help me or suggest what i need to do ? If it is certain settings on my PC which is preventing the game to work ??

Your help is appreciated guys.

Few bits to try if it's happening consistently...

- Update DirectX.

- Update Java.

- Update your graphics and sound card drivers.

Generally if these are all as up to date as they can be you have the best chance of the game running. Also - have you added anything to the game - skins/ data changes etc? If so, remove and try and run "normally" first.

Lastly - make sure you're fully patched up.

Let us know how you go.

Merry Christmas

Matt

I had the same thing happen to me when a skin or something graphical went bad. The solution to my problem was to delete the cache folder, so maybe that will work for you?

How to delete your Cache files

(First you may need to enable hidden files/folders, in Windows this is done through Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View -> Advanced Settings, then select 'Show hidden files and folders' you may also need to untick 'hide protected Operating System files')

Windows XP:

1. Open "My Computer"

2. Navigate to : "Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\

3. Go into the "Sports Interactive" Folder.

4. Go Into the "Football Manager 2011" Folder.

5. Delete the "Cache" folder inside.

Wndows Vista/7:

1. Click "Start"

2. Click your username on the start Menu

3. Click on "AppData" and then "Roaming"

4. Go into the "Sports Interactive" Folder

5. Go into the "Football Manager 2011" Folder.

6. Delete the "Cache" Folder inside.

Mac OSX

1. Open Finder.

2. Select <User>

3. Navigate to Library\Caches\Sports Interactive

4. Delete the the "Sports Interactive" Folder.

5. In the Library folder find the folder called "Preferences"

6. Delete the "Sports Interactive" Folder.

Good luck!
