Patch 2 - compatibility with old saves

Don't know if this is for GD or the Editor's forum, sorry...

I haven't started a game on FM10 yet. Plenty of people on here fussing about bugs. Someone from SI already mentioned on one of these threads that newgens are being tweaked slightly, in particular the Marking stat for DMs.

Here's my question - if you are running a save based on patch 1 and update your game with patch 2 would this element of the patch take affect any newgens subsequently created in that save or only if you start a new game?

I dont see no reason why it would not. In most games.

All patches are compatible with your current save games but any data changes will not take effect till a new game is started. It is not necessary to start again but it is recommended to get the most out of the patch

So if you weren't interested in the database update then all the changes in the patch with work just as well with an old save game as a new one just started?

Also consider that the regens already generated in ur current game will still have the faulty attribute distribution. Only new regens will be tweaked.
