TheMister
How would you feel, as a player, on a 12 year contract?!?!? If you're not sure ask a few of the Dinamo (CRO) players (in the game at least) - there's a handful of them on 11 an 12 year contracts
rinso
12 years?! Surely not?!
Elmo
Wow i thought there was like a 6 year limit on contracts or something :S
TheMister
Check for yourselves - I wouldn't believe it if someone told me LOL EDIT: just looked at one in the editor to confirm what I seen in game. Jan 05 - Jun 17!
rinso
None like that on mine!
TheMister
PLAYER NAMING!! Levren or Lovren, I don't remember which, was the one I looked at in the editor, but there were a few others in the game.
blab
Yes, it's true. Modric had a 10 year contract or something like that. But as far as I know, only Mamic Sports Agency (MSA) has such policy. It is kind of a blackmail situation 'cos MSA is managed by Zdravko Mamic's (Dinamo Zagreb vice-chairman) son, and every player who want's to play regularly is apparently forced to sign a very long term deal. The press in Croatia are guessing that some rediculous clauses are also involved, like 15% of wage will be contributed to MSA for the rest of the career etc.
TheMister
Bloody hell! Yeah, it does sound a bit shady mate. Similar to Juventus with Moggi - players being intimidated and moved on if they didn't sign up with him.
Elmo
Wow that all sounds a bit dodgy. Surprised FIFA havent had a look.
blab
Yeah, very shady. Here in Croatia we have a saying: Every state has a mafia, but here, the mafia have a state
blab
Wow that all sounds a bit dodgy. Surprised FIFA havent had a look. They actually did have a look. MSA was owned by Mamic, the vice-chairman. When FIFA came to investigate, he transferred the company to his son.
TheMister
It shouldn't really be funny, but that's a good saying. In the UK the mafia are above repproach - it's the government; Capone would have been green with envy at their rackets.
Deaksydeak
yeah, modric and a few others signed on for a 10-year contract as part of Dinamo's "project europe". 2 years later, and they still struggle to make any sort of impression in the uefa cup/europa league. Mamic & Son are the biggest criminals to run a club. Still, could be worse. We could have Mike Ashley
kieronbrown73
Wow that all sounds a bit dodgy. Surprised FIFA havent had a look. Why would FIFA look into it they're probably getting a slice of the action!!!!
sturislav
Dundee United used to make good youth players who made the first team sign 10-year contracts!
