TheoWalcott89
I want to buy Shay Given but he is retiring in the summer of 2014. the only thing is that its only july 2013 so he should be able to get another year which is just how long i need him for, but i cant offer him a player deal, only a coaching contract. i've come across this before obviously but never really minded, but this is shay given, so i was thinking if there isnt a way to get him to play for me...? i would appreciate a quick reply as i will otherwise buy Martin Fulop. lutontown1991
As he has set a retirement date he has unofficially signalled that he will finish his career at the club he is at now so no you cant sign him unless he is released by the club. cruyff14
i think its a bug if you use fmrte though and swap him with one of your youth players then change his contract to be full time he will be eligble to play for you and signed to your club
