Suge
You know when you leave the control of friendly games to your assistant and all of the games get played... but then you find there are still a few players lacking match fitness? How about when you right-click a player you can set 'Friendly instructions' for him. For example, you could set weather he starts or comes on/goes off at half-time and how long he plays. Similar to International friendlies. I've noticed the same players seem to start every friendly game even though they are match fit.
Brian Shanahan
You could always just holiday that friendly, having picked the team and instructing your ass man to use the team you picked. But yes your idea is better than what you can do now.

Baggy20077
Not playing the friendlies is a bit lazy tbh. I like to use the friendlies to make sure all of my players get match fitness and practice as well as spotting what areas look weak in an actual match.
