manchesterunited7
My netbook is brand new, so i am not sure whether i have all those installed. But i am pretty sure that the graphic card is capable for playing football manager. For the direct x and the java, where or how can i tell whether i have the right things? Thanks! Glenn Wakeford
You should go to the makers of your graphics card and download the latest drivers. The drivers on new machines are often not the most recent. Direct X and Java can easily be found through a quick google search.

isuckatfm
If none of skorp's suggestions work, the last time I saw that issue the poster had installed from Steam but something went wrong somewhere as he was missing some files from the installation. First check here for dbghelp.dll C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009 If it’s missing then that’s your problem (also the poster I mentioned above was also missing saAuditMD.dll so you might want to check for that while you’re there). If dbghelp.dll is there then there might be another issue with respect to which version FM is calling. Either way reinstalling might solve the issue. I know nowt about how Steam operates so whether or not you can get individual files or not as opposed to having to download the entire thing again I don’t know. If dbghelp is missing since it is a Microsoft file you could probably get the latest version from their site which would save you having to download all of FM from Steam. If you're installing from disc then I've no clue what's going wrong.
