activated by steam now how do i play without using steam?

7 posts in this topic

Hi

I have bought the game, installed and activated via steam

Why does my computer say the game is not installed anywhere?

Surely I don't have to go through steam every time I want to play the game?>

There is no desktop shortcut and the game is not in c:/program files or anything like that

How do I just play through my desktop, without internet connection or steam?

Also, where is the data editor. Why change things, it's no so complicated and stupid

Go to where Steam installed along with game & go to the 'steamapps' folder, then 'common' & you should find the FM09 folder in there. There you'll find the FM09.exe which you can use to create a shortcut on your desktop which will run without Steam.

File > Settings > Interface > untick 'Notify me (with Steam instant messages) about additions or changes to my games, new releases, and upcoming releases'.

If you load it without steam does this mean that you could miss out on vital updates through steam though? Or can you continue to update and then this will load onto the game?
